The bridge isn't original. It was bombed in the 90s. It's also overrun with tourists and tacky tourist shops.

A must visit into Bosnia Herzegovina to walk over a see the famous little cobbled bridge and hear and see what the war of 1992/3 did to the people. Whilst on the bridge watch the divers. Great little town and history

It's as touristy as it gets but the bridge was just magnificent and so beautiful at night with the lighting. This is the main attraction to get people to come visit Mostar. Note the divers only take action after soliciting at least 25 Euros before...More

Visited Mostar, in Herzegovina, on the way to Dubrovnik. Caution - don't wear smooth soled shoes; the cobbled street and the bridge are slippy. Fascinating location with a lot of ottoman influence. The bridge is very photogenic - the best views, I think, are from...More

We came here on a day trip and I was really looking forward to it. The bridge is as lovely as the pictures suggest. The signs of conflict are still there and I think they should keep some as a poignant reminder. The bridge is...More

There is a lot of history in this bridge! Nowadays boys dive off of it for 30 Euros into shallow water. The surface is VERY slippery so wear good shoes. Our tour guide warned our group of 20 that the gypsy boys and their mothers...More

Visiting the Old Bridge in Mostar is a must. There is a lot of history behind the bridge, not to mention the collapse during the Bosnian War. The bridge connects the East side of the city with the West side, similar to Mitrovica in Kosovo.

You may also want to go into the mosque which is open to visitors for a small fee. Not being Muslim it was interesting to me to go in to see what it looks like inside. From the side garden by the river, it's a great photo... More
