The tour was comprehensive and took us to both cultural and historical sites, with an emphasis on the war that held the town captive in the 90s. He linked the historical facts with personal stories in the most impartial way possible given the divisive history of the town. Despite the serious nature of some elements of the tour, Sheva included some light-hearted commentary and humour to ensure it was as enjoyable as possible.
Given it was free (tip-based), I'd recommend this tour to anyone coming to Mostar. It is a must to capture the history of not only the town, but the greater Balkan region.

Interested in learning about Mostar's history and the current state of affairs? Look no further. Sheva led us on an informative walking tour, introducing us to historic sites and local artisans. If you like tours that encourage dialogue and leave you wanting to know more about a city's culture, politics, and history, then I highly recommend this tour. Also, ask him where to find the best coffee in Mostar. His recommendation will not disappoint!

Sheva was a fantastic guide who was extremely personable and knowledgeable. He has a very laid back approach to his tour and he was able to share a lot of personal experiences and context to the walking tour. It was a small group so we got a lot of face time and great recommendations on places to eat and drink in the city. Sheva was a great guy, has a fantastic beard, and comes highly recommended!

Ševko is the best tour guide in the city - and this is the best waking tour I’ve ever been on. After serving in the war himself and living in Mostar his whole life, Ševko gives a candid and comprehensive tour of the city. I’ll recommend it to everyone who comes here - do this tour first before anything else. It puts the entire city into perspective. Incredible experience!

Best tour guy that we meet in Bosnia.
The tour start with simple explanation of the city and how everything begging with ottomans empire and architecture.. While we walking he explain us about local water divers as well if you take the tour in evening there will be a stop to see how local guys dive in to the water from the 23-25m bridge.
After we stop and he pull out his tablet and explain about ex Yugoslavia map and how everything get started regarding the last war that Bosnia and Hercegovina have. He know that this explanation will take time so he seat us somewhere in more quite place so everyone can listen carefully.
As a photographer i really appreciate he show us some of his personal albums that he capture from the war.
At the end he give us some vouchers for free drinks in local restaurant and pubs.
If you looking for a cool tour guy search no more!

I've traveled across the world taking walking tours and Sheva's was the best I've ever been a part of. It was truly a privilege to meet Sheva. He was an extremely welcoming, talented, and outgoing tour guide eager to teach about his hometown. Walking around with him, you could appreciate the small-town feel of Mostar as everyone person recognized and greeted him. He also gave recommendations for food/coffee for the rest of our stay and earnestly offered his contact information if we needed any help in Mostar.
At the start, I learned much about the city's history, preservation as a UNESCO heritage site, and culture, but moving on, he offered a very heartfelt account of Mostar on the frontlines in the 1990s. As he shared his own personal pictures, I teard up thinking of the sadness this city endured. His story is eye-opening. Cannot recommend enough.

What a treat to get an english walking tour by a Mostar native. We have done countless free walking tours throughout Europe, and most are done by US immigrants going through the motions of the cities history. Sheva’s passion for his city and country are evident, and it was wonderful to get an insight into Mostar through his perspective. The tour was one of the longest we have been on, but the information we received was interesting from start to finish and the whole tour flew by despite the heat.
Only constructive feedback was that his voice was sometimes overshadowed by the sounds of city life. A louder voice or pausing until the distraction has passed would be great so we could absorb even more of the information.

Thank you so much for such a lovely review of your experience walking through Mostar with Sheva! Your words mean a lot to us. We think it is important for us to share our local perspective and experiences with visitors in hopes of providing some insight into Mostar's community! This is why we combine our historical research with first-hand experience. All of our guides are encouraged to share their experience of Mostar - individual tours are shaped by the age, gender, education and so on of guides while also being held to a high standard of quality.
Thanks for your feedback! The sounds of city life returning to the streets of Mostar after such a long period of hiatus because of the pandemic measures has been welcome, but it certainly creates some challenges for all tour guides. We often worry about guests who might have difficulties with their hearing since we have family members who fall into this group. We are exploring some options to improve this!

Had an amazing free walking tour of Mostar with Sheva. The 2hr tour was very informative and Sheva's personal insights and stories made it so much more relatable. It's obvious this is not just a job for him but something he is very passionate about -- sharing the history of his city and country. This is a must do activity if you're in Mostar.

Sheva was excellent, full of knowledge and explains everything clearly. He captures your attention as he guides you through the history of Mostar, inspires you and provokes your emotions at the same time. I took his suggestions and enjoyed Mostar even more. I'm sure if I ever come back to Mostar, I will join his tour again.
