Kosovars like America, and especially politicians that helped them gain independence. Bill Clinton was a major factor in that process, so a monument was erected to honour him. Proportions are not exact, which makes it kind of weird. A shop nearby is named Hillary. No sign of Monica anywhere.

Like most of the other reviewers, I didn't know how much Bill Clinton had done for Kosovo, nor that they were understandably so thankful to him.

We wandered down to the statue (it's a few minutes walk from the Mother Theresa Cathedral - you'll see the Bill Klinton (note the spelling) road sign, then head down and the statue on the left hand side of the road. If you're coming from the other direction from the outskirts of the city, then it's much easier to see thanks to the massive poster of him!

It's a small monument on the corner of two streets, but nice all the same and worth a quick visit.

“I will always be proud of the fact that I happened to be the president of the United States when you needed someone to stand up and say no more ethnic cleansing, no more people running out of their homes, no more killing innocent civilians, there’s got to be another way,” - Bill Clinton

When most of the world was in denial over the genocide that Serbia was committing on European soil, Clinton took the necessary measures to stop it in Kosovo. One of the most significant events which led to victory in the Kosovo revolution and Kosovo becoming the independent sovereign nation it is today.
The free people of Kosovo have since honored Clinton with a statue that anchors the corner of the street also named after him, Bill Clinton Boulevard.
Standing at the foot of the statue, in the middle of the modern day free nation of Kosovo's capital city Pristina, its a sobering reminder of both the cost of liberty and the duty to secure it regardless for who and where it needs to be done in the world.

I really had no idea the work Clinton did in this Nation country of Kosovo. He definitely is well revered in this city, as so all the Americans who step foot in it. The memorial is really nice, with an American flag next to it, and a plaque. They even have a Hillary Clinton store right next to it...go figure! Lol

USA President Bill Clinton is a national hero in Kosovo. Locals speak highly of him and they should. He has a boulevard named after him and a fantastic statue in his honor. President Clinton was hear in Prishtina in 2009 addressing Kosovars. Kosovars are so friendly and when locals found out President Clinton was my Commander in Chief, they wanted to hear President Clinton stories. Very respectful!

Why on earth Bill Clinton? OK, I had to google it myself and the reason is OK. But still it is weird to see the statue of an american president on an intersection, flags, picture, and all.

I liked seeing that one of past presidents was well liked here, there’s even a Hillary fashion store around the corner from Bill’s statue too.

It served as a good and easy meeting spot for our driver since most people know Bill Clinton road and the statue too.

It is rather weird to find a Boulevard and a statue to Bill Clinton in Pristina, but if you think about what he did for the Albanians in Kosovo it is rather understandable. Following the Kosovo War of 1998 to 1999, Albanians in Kosovo wanted to thank former U.S. President Bill Clinton for his help in their struggle with the government of Yugoslavia. A statue of Clinton was unveiled on the boulevard on November 1, 2009, at a ceremony in which the former president spoke.

The people of Kosovo and of Pristina in particular have a lot of time for the likes of the Clintons and Madeleine Albright (and even George Bush), which is understandable, so as odd as this statue and its like may seem to visitors, they're there for good reason. Still, this one looks unintentionally funny in its way. A bit.

Jokes aside, it is what it is really! Have a look, be interested by the Bill Clinton affiliations with the city, and the appreciations Kosovo seem to show with the US for liberalising the country, and move on. 5 minutes here is more than fine as part of a walk around the city.

After this it is worth going to the park on the hill, there is a US camp set up (you can walk through a bit of it), when you get to the other side and walk around the complex you come to LOADS of stairs going down past all of the Embassies, very powerful actually about how many countries have set up presence here, decorated with the barbed wire and very good views of the city, in a protective kind of way.
