Xhamia e Carshise mosque, known as Bazaar mosque is recognized as a cultural and historical site in Prishtina. It's currently being renovated. Shadervani fountain is located in the courtyard and you have access to it during the renovation. Go where the guard is.

This mosque shows you that the city had a live before Kosovo state....everithing in the city is quite new and modern except this mosque and some other few buildings. It was a pitty thet the mosque was closed when we was there and it seems that nobody takes care of this place anymore.

Walking from my hotel to the Mother Theresa Boulevard, I saw this mosque on Day 1. I looked around and noted it to be closed for renovations. Kept on walking to visit other attractions located near by.

This 15th century mosque was once the centre of the old bazaar (no longer exists) is closed for renovations (maybe for good). Scaffolding and boarding surrounds it and looks like it has been up a while and will continue to be up for some time. Seems like renovation works have stopped. Pity really as its heritage and location is prime.

In a modern city trying to rebuild, it's nice to see some beautiful remnants of the past and this mosque is one of the most aesthetically pleasing. Undergoing a lengthy refurbishment but worth having a look regardless as not far from the centre or popular hotels, situated on the edge of the old town.

It looks as the scaffolding has been up a long time, years. It is not to be ready soon either.
Location is famous. Was once centre of bazaar. Now roads circle the place and mosque.

Disappointed to see it covered with scaffolding that appears to have been there for years.
Interesting to see the old mosque but not very impressed.

Çarshia Mosque was built in fifteenth century, which makes it one of the oldest objects in Prishtina. It used to be the center of Prishtina's Bazaar, which doesn't exist today. It's uniqueness lies in the way it was built and the way it preserved its originality until these days. Unfortunately, it is still undergoing restauration, so it's not possible to enter, which is a pity. All in all, it's a very interesting religious and historic building, which is a must see in Prishtina.
