We made a private day trip to Kotor from Dubrovnik and the attractions around Kotor bay are half the fun. Initially you might stop in Herceg Novi, which has a nice old town, although we would recommend saving time for the other attractions. On the...More

The scenery is amazing. Take a boat trip to really appreciate the beauty of Kotor. The weather can be unpredictable owing the the mountains, sunshine and storms.

Even though the weather was turning cold visiting the Bay of Kotor Montenegro and its old town shopping area was absolutely worth it. I have been to Croatia and even some of the stunning Greek islands but they have nothing on Kotor, it's one of...More

Sometimes referred to as a fjord; maybe not, but a very dramatic deep Bay off the Adriatic Coast. Winds around the mountainous inlets, and ends at the town of Kotor. Beautiful. In any weather.

Stayed at a darling boutique hotel with a patio for outside eating. The food was very good. They also have a deck across the street for lounging and swimming. Highly recommend the area for a beachy vacation with the option to go into town for...More

A different Mediterranean landscape indeed. The sea has sculpted the dark mountain and created a coastline that is elaborate, with unforgiving steep cliffs and sandy beaches as well. The high mountains all around you give an impression of safety and peace to the extent that...More

We were on a tour that drove up to the top of the hill to visit a palace. Amazing scenery looking down over the fjords. Great for taking spectacular photos of the bay.

Take one of airbnb apartments outside of the crowded city centre. With car this is easy. Also taxis are almost free!

Sorry for delayed response. Kotor is a lot of hills and a lot of climbing. Most streets are cobblestone and not very flat. As far as rental cars I am not sure.

Having driven the entire bay I would suggest focusing on Kotor itself. Saying you have only six hours I would suggest the old town, and then later in the day possibly a climb up above the town to the vantage point with the... More
