A place of remembrance

A sad place to remember my grandfather, JACOB HUSID that was brutally executed here in that dark January 1942 . His name is mentioned on the memorial . REMEMBER ! NEVER FORGET !!

I rented an apartment right on the quay - Kej zrtava racije. This monument was visible straight off from the terrace of my apartment. bang opposite. It's a moving sight - the statues and plaques with names of all the departed souls. You can sit by the river or take a long stroll along the quay. On teh opposite banks... More

A simple but thought-provoking place. Just off the Quay and a nice walk if you are coming from the Fortress.

It's worth a visit if you're passing through as it is a sad and sobering monument. Besides this the views are nice for taking pictures and the bridge is close by if you're on your way to petrovaradin.

I highly recomend visiting this place because its on bent. Its also good place for taking pictures about fortres, danube and bridges. Its easy to come by foot from... More

It's just a monument nothing more, nothing less. If you go and visit the fortress you can stop a take some pictures. The monument is located across the fortress on the other bank of Danube.

The Monument is very simply but powerful. the reason for it being there is heartbreaking. Find time to read and imagine the terrible events. Its on the quayside, just west of rhe bridge to the fortress on the Novi Sad side of the Danube.

As you take in the sights of the fortress from the city side of the river (walking towards the university) you will find this haunting monument to the victims of Hungarian Nazis. Its a beautiful memorial and one for you to spend a moment to remember. The walking path beside the river is outstanding.

Just to know what happened here makes hair on my back straight. You can actually read the names of people who died that day. RIP!
