It's just a monument nothing more, nothing less. If you go and visit the fortress you can stop a take some pictures. The monument is located across the fortress on the other bank of Danube.

Visited on Armistice Day 2018. Statue has been destroyed and removed. Very sad to have such a memorial desecrated.

The sculpture showed the hardship that the people experienced in the gaunt, thin figures. In a great setting with views of the river. Worth a visit.

This is a simple but very moving monument to the victims of a brutal killing in 1942 of Jews and Serbs. As with many atrocities in the Second World War most of us had never heard about this terrible incident. A thousand Jews and Serbs...More

Anybody who has the opportunity should visit this place, then visit the library to read about it, then visit it again. Several thousand victims perished near the monument during WW2, from the hands of local fascists.

The 4 m tall, bronze statue "The Family" was erected in 1971 to commemorate the 1000 Serbs, Jews and gypsies executed by Hungarian fascists from Jan 21-23, 1942. 78 bronze plates were added in 1992. A place to stop and remember.

A monument and memorial plates on the quai remind us of brutality of Hungarian occupying forces that killed thousands of innocent people in the winter 1942.

A simple but thought-provoking place. Just off the Quay and a nice walk if you are coming from the Fortress.
