Like all the Orthodox temples north of the Danube are built in such a way that they do not stand out from other Christian temples of other doctrines. The Austro-Hungarian Empire was strict in this. So it does not follow the Byzantine typical. It is...More

This church is in a fine state of preservation both inside and out. The icons and gold ornamentation inside the church are very beautiful. It is also central in the city, in the old town so easy to visit. To be recommended.

Lovely paintings and atmosphere. Worth a visit while in town. Not far from main street. Better to go on a guided tour

The main church of the city. It is beautiful and people can pray in silence there and just be focused to God. It is full during Sundays and holidays. Wonderful.

Not easily identified as a typical Orthodox church from the neoclassical - neo baroque facades. Stunning interior with excellent stained glass windows, nice frescoes and icons amalgamating orthodox and centroeuropean cultural traditions. A melting pot of eastern and western Christianity.
