This was a prison war camp....called stalag 328. Over 15k people died. A bit gruesome especially since there is a five star restaurant here. Most people died of starvation...a bit ironic....all I can say. Go see. This picture is from across road.

The Citadel, marked on the maps of Lviv as such, is a truely bizarre place. A selection of military style buildings and a fortress built on top of one of the city's many hills. Not a particularly appealing tourist attraction, as the area is mainly overgrown. There is a hotel built from the fortress, and another round building that has a small memorial near by that commemorates the thousands of multinational people and soldiers who were rounded up and murdered there by the Nazis.
