If you would like to see something special go to Lviv. Lviv is a city situated on the border between the East and West has very interesting history which still has been seen in its architecture. Old Town listed on the UNESCO heritage list with the renessaince, baroque and the other time buildings as the testimony of prosperous city. This former Ruthenian, Polish town, was ruled also by Austro - Hungarian emperor after the partition of Poland. Lviv was ruled by Poland after the Great War and after the WWII was a part of the Soviet Union in the Ukrainian Republic. Italian and German influences in the architecture. The unique atmosphere of the old time. A lot of restaurants, bars with very reasonably prices, nice and friendly people. Perfect place for weekend or more days.

This is one of the cutest city squares I have ever seen. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is very well maintained. The buildings lining the square are lovely. We loved walking around this area, stopping in charming coffee houses for drinks and little cafes for a snack.

Lviv's old town is one of the most charming old town's I've visited in Europe so far. It was bustling but not overwhelming or crowded, very lively, full of nice cafes, bars, restaurants, old churches, and small shops.

A beautiful city! When you go to Ukraine, definitely visit Lviv/Lvov. Eating, drinking and hotels are really cheap over here! If you visit the center look around and enjoy the beautiful old architecture of the buildings!
I truly want to come back over here!

Lviv, is a human scale, beautiful, historic city of culture filled with helpful and friendly people.
It’s a city of churches, museums, historic buildings, cobbled streets, art, architecture, literature, bars and restaurants. It’s also a city of contrasts.
The first thing we noticed was how polite the drivers are: they give way to each other and always stop to let pedestrians cross the road; we thought that the penalty for failing to stop must be being forced to watch your car being crushed and then being burned alive at the stake. I don’t know if there is a penalty, they’re just polite and considerate. We saw very few police around anyway.
The streets are very clean, not a dropped cigarette butt, sweet wrapper, can or bottle; but we didn’t see any night life. Although the bars and are almost deserted by 10 and close at 11.
Most cars are gleaming and fairly new, we saw only about half a dozen motor bikes in our five days, and they too were gleaming, top of the range monsters. Most of the people are smartly and fashionably dressed too. But we saw a lot of beggars. The majority of the buildings in the centre are at least two hundred years old. We saw only one tower crane during our stay. Most of the buildings are beautiful and well maintained but between them there were many others with rotting timbers, crumbling rendering and graffiti covered walls. Many buildings, even those in very good condition, had incongruous, corrugated iron or rusting galvanised steel sheeting roofs.

One of the most incredible cities we have visited, Lviv enchants the most demanding tourists. Clean, safe, cheerful, festive, full of beautiful people, full of wonderful attractions, restaurants and bars, historical monuments and countless churches, it all meets affordable prices. My wife and I travel a lot, all over the world and we can guarantee that Lviv is one of the 20 most sensational cities to visit. In 3 nights you can visit it with reasonable tranquility. Be sure to climb the hill of the old castle (now in ruins) for an incredible overview of this Unesco heritage site..

The buildings alone in this beautiful, historical square will leave you in no doubt that Lviv was and is an important city with much to tell.
