If you can be there for liturgy, you will not know if you are in heaven or on earth. It also has one of 8 in the world life-size replicas of the shroud of Turin.

Situated on the top of the hill above Lviv, with beautiful sculptures, it is an architectural marvel, however, there is still some restoration work left to do.

Situated in the western part of town but easily walkable from the centre this imposing building sits on a hill and is well worth a visit. It is a Greek Catholic cathedral and lies behind a magnificent gate behind which is a courtyard and also the bishop's palace.
Perhaps the interior is not as rich and grandiose as some of Lviv's other religious buildings but still worth a visit. The acoustics are wonderful and it is often used for concerts. When I was there a choir was practicing for a concert and just sitting and listening to the music and singing was a magical experience.

Nothing really special, there are more beautiful churches in Lviv. The thing that I recommend to see is the long painting along the wall near the entrance to the location. It's really colorful positive and worth seeing.

While visible from afar because of its strategic placement at the top of a hill overlooking the historic center of L'viv, St. George's is remarkably small and intimate for a cathedral. Its once garishly painted interior has been tastefully restored. The decor is exuberantly rococo (it was built in the mid-eighteenth century on the site of an earlier church). It was the site of the pseudo-council of 1946, which placed it in the possession of the Russian Orthodox Church during the SSoviet period (to 1990). Now once again a Greek-Catholic cathedral, it contains a crypt with the tombs of renowned metropolitans. Sunday services are typically overflowing, and are conducted in Ukrainian. There is a very good choir. Seating for the elderly and infirm is available, though the faithful normally stand throughout the services.

The Cathedral of St George. Standing on top of a hill in its baroque-rococo splendor it overlooks the entire town and serves as the mother church of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church

It is beautiful church but I saw better. Not in the City Center but still close. Not far away from railway station.

St. George's Cathedral is a Greek Catholic 18th-century cathedral with rococo yellow facade, housing an icon of the Virgin Mary. During 19th and 20th centuries, the cathedral served as the mother church of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The cathedral reflects both Western influences and the traditions of Ukrainian church construction. She's a beauty- don't miss this opportunity!

Located on hill. Absolutely astonishing view. Must take tour to real about history and rear sacred artifacts and admire the history.

Lviv is full of beautiful churches, and St. George's is certainly not one to miss, even though it is a bit of a hike from downtown (and all uphill!).It is free to enter but has donation boxes. The inside looks surprisingly small compared to what it looks like from the outside, but it is work seeing. Make your way back to downtown through the beautiful and shady Ivan Franko Park.

Signs say modest dress required, but this is not at all enforced. There are toilets inside the complex, like most in Ukraine there is a modest charge (2 UAH when I went).
