When you think of a square, it is usually an open space. In this case, the City Hall Building is the "solid inside square" surrounded by sculptures, cafes, restaurants and shops.
No matter the time of day, be it day or night, the area was very active in the month of June. A small train tour departs from the City Hall entrance. The 4 main statues were adorned with different local soccer team jerseys. On Friday and Saturday evening, small groups of musicians and performers competed with each other for attention.

The Rynok Square (The Market Square in Ukrainian) has so many things in common with other Market Squares in some Polish cities, but also it has something so different. I don't know, maybe this feeling of comfort has something to do with the paving stones that is left everywhere unlike other Old Towns. Or maybe, it is just it's smaller size. But yeah, everyone should really visit this place

Rynok Square is one of the city's attractions. Yolu will find city Ratusha there as well as many other historycal buldings. The one I remember the most is the black building as there was some interesting story behind the color.

Its wrong idea to stay only in centre of the old town. Lviv is also interesting on other places like Galickiy market or Lychakiv cemetery. Small old streets behind Dobrobut market is good for walking. With tram you can go to Railway station or see The Olga Church and from there to Prison on Lontskogo. I needed 3 days for walking, will come again it worth.

Not as large as other main squares in Europe, though this colorful square makes up in charm every bit of what it lacks in size. Aside from the huge advertising banners strewn across some buildings lining the square, and the off season construction, this classic European square is a beautiful place. I stayed not too far from here during my visit; even if I hadn't, I would have gravitated here often.
It is lined with tenement houses of widely varying architectural styles, one of which was the childhood home of a Polish king. It also houses the Town Hall tower (a must climb for a bird’s eye view of the square) and fountains with Greek sculptures in all four corners…what more could you want! Also, visit the tourist information center in the ground floor of the Town Hall for a free booklet with LOTS of information about the square (along with the rest of the city) and make your experience all the more enjoyable.
This public gathering spot is truly the heart of Lviv; the thought of an independent Ukraine grew and was nurtured here. Choose one of the many restaurants and have a meal, or simply sit at a cafe and watch the locals take pictures of each other by the fountains. Either way, enjoy!

The square was rebuilt in 1527 in Renaissance style, with some earlier Gothic buildings. There ia a classical statue in each corner-Neptune, Diana, Amphitrite and Adonis. .The square was developed by Polish king Casimir III the Great during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The 44 tenament houses surrounding the Town Hall are all different.Today they are used as restaurants, cafes, museums and shops. We went into a pattiserrie for braekfast and a coffee shop for lunch.

We stayed at the square which is the biggest in Lviv. A lot of restaurants, hotels and shopping opportunities are located around and in close proximity of the square. It is an absolute must to visit if you are in Lviv. Enjoy a stroll around the square or watch the bustling life from one of the many outside pavilions, bars and restaurants. The heartbeat of Lviv, there is always something going on here. Music buskers on every corner, and in the middle. Lots of Crowd and Activities, a handful of shops, lovely feel, Not as “touristy” as Krakow, or other towns with famous squares. Several interesting museums on the square as well. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel 39 on the Square, and the traditional clothing shop next door to it was particularly good. Best gift shop was the one at the Ethnography Museum. Be sure to try the ice cream booths with the blue tarps- the “salty peanut cheese” ice cream was really good, as was the lemon.

Rynok is the main square in Lviv, it has a high concentration of restaurants and shops. It's a nice place for a walk, especially on a Sunday morning when things are quiet

Does anyone have any advice on the best way to get from Lviv airport to Runok Square please? We are a party of 6 who will be travelling there in just over a week.

It's only 7 kilometers. Call Uber- don't use a taxi as they'll charge you 5 times as much as Uber. Walking is a possibility unless you have a lot of luggage. It's a simple walk.
