This museum is dark with few Urkanian items and nothing on Armeians or Jews or Cossacks and it is supposed to be about ethnology? The primary focus was French and German furniture from the 1600s to late 1800s. A disappointment.

This former bank, with a statue of liberty style statue on its corner dome is the real reason to visit this museum. I enjoyed watching the custodians who took their guardianship of the exhibits very seriously. While we were there there was a temporary exhibition...More

It is like a tick list of boring Eastern European museum fails 1. Objects are arranged chaotically with extremely limited descriptions 2. Does not look like it has been changed in at least 40 years. 3. Over staffed with elderly bored employees who's only joy...More

A very lovely old building with some interesting pieces, but more of a decorative arts museum showcasing furniture, glassware, porcelain and silver. The ethnographic collection is actually located in the satellite museum on Rynok Square. Any of the museums in Lviv are certainly worth a...More

I did not visit the main building. Looking for textiles, I was sent to the building in Rynok Square. I had heard of the rich collections of embroideries and costumes. The visit took me, with a second tour for photos, 25 minutes. Nicely displayed costumes...More

I visited this place without any idea how beautiful the building itself is. The museum is Ok, but the building is something outstanding with all original interiors.

There are some lovely artefacts in this museum and they could tell a wonderful story of the influence of art on design in mittel-Europe in the two preceding centuries. Let us hope someone with vision, resourcefulness and person management skills takes on the challenge.
