This is a unique museum under the open skies, presenting the ancient architecture of the whole of Ukraine in one place. It is an ideal place to see in one place how people were living and what their homes, churches, and workshops looked like.
I would recommend this place to visit to regular people, and also for kids who want to learn about the history

Houses are closed on Monday and Tuesday, at least during winter. However, you can still enter (entrance 40 uah) and have a walk and admire the houses from outside. Some houses have short explanation outside. It’s a few tram stops from Rynok square and then 15 min on foot from the main road uphill. There are some signposts on the way. If you have spare time, it’s ok to visit but not a must see in my opinion.

What a view into the architectural past of this part of Ukraine. The buildings and the overall setting really allows visitors to understand how people lived. The house with the musical instruments was my favorite - the curator had some of us play them and he conducted us in a song!

I went to the museum on bright and sunny sunday afternoon in february.

Most of the buildings were closed and could only be visited from outside, most exhibitions were not working either. The few food stalls were also closed.

The footpaths were often muddy and slippery, so don’t wear your sunday shoes.

The museum might be nice in the summer, but in the winter it is not worth the effort to get to this place.

Entrance fee 40 Grywna.

Though it is an amazing open museum that makes you feel like you are actually travelling the old villages of Ukraine, the houses and the churches on display are not open on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Not even tourist information in the center informed us about that so we had to visit just the gardens. Also be prepared to walk long distances.

I enjoyed walking around this very large park. Only 40hva when I went. Neat buildings and animals and a few people doing crafts. Smart to taxi there (uphill). Easy 1.5 mile walk back to center
of Lviv. Recommended!

Care: interior of houses not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This is a great museum although, when we visited in mid-May, there were not many crafts going on.

The buildings have been very well restored.

The price is VERY low at UAH 40 pp.

Each house is well labelled in Ukrainian and good English.

Only downside is that they really should create a much better map of the site; the one you are given is information-light. It really would benefit from a clear A4 folded map with all buildings marked and a clear key. We would gladly have paid another UAH 40 for this.

This museum is a wonderful way to get to understand the architecture and life living in the Ukraine. Unfortunately, several building were "closed" or without anyone to explain about the region and their ways of living. Not looking to that downside on my visit to this museum, I can keep the value of it and still I understand that it deserves my 'Very Good' review. My one suggestion to the "owners" is that you should make this wonderful museum a little bit more lively for visitants.

It is more like a big park with a lot traditional Ukrainian buildings. It is called the Museum of Folk Architecture. Some of the buildings or houses, as told, are moved from other areas or regions in Ukraine. We found this place on the map and walked there from the center. It took a while, but it's not that far and much easier than asking about transportations. It would be very nice to walk in the so called museum park in a warm and sunny day.
