Actually place was really good. However, prices to see the museum is a little bit high and still tasting beers is not included into price. Also, if you are a little late they accept you to museum but don't give you time to sit in the cafe and taste different beers. Still, that is a good place to visit in Lviv. You should see that place.

A great place to visit, with information not just about the brewery and brewing in general but also about the city. The exhibits are interesting and well maintained. The highlight is the tasting room with samples of five different beers: I wish that I could get them at home

The museum can be walked to from the downtown core. It is behind the open-air bazaar. Some renovations seemed to be happening in November 2010 so we ignored the direction sign on an adjacent restaurant and entered the museum through the restaurant. The advertised street address may be confusing and inaccurate for now.
Admission cost 15 UAH, which included a tour of the museum plus two 500 ml glasses of Lvivske beer. The tour featured a history of the brewery, old brewing artifacts and a short film. The modern brewery can be only glimpsed through a small window in the floor and outside. The tour ends in a small underground beer hall where you redeem your coupon for samples of the brew.
The souvenirs were reasonably priced with 300 ml Lvivske beer glasses costing 16 UAH. Various sizes of glasses and mugs, up to monster beer mugs, were available as well as bottle openers, t-shirts and other stuff.

Tickets are 30hr for the museum and 45hr for 4 ‘tasters’ of beer - but these were not tasters they were huge!! Easily over a pint of beer. The museum is interesting and gives a history of beer and also of brewing in Lviv. All displays are in English and Ukrainian. The bar is fantastic - great decor and the tasters were delicious. You can go straight into the bar by taking the stairs to the left and getting tasters there. They also do bar snacks such as crisps for just 10hr. Well worth a visit if you like beer!

You gotta love this place, after all it is a beer museum, and our teenagers even thought it was pretty cool. The museum tells us of the history of beer throughout the world, not just Lviv. Our knowledgeable guide, Ivanka translated for us as English signage and explanations were pretty scarce. She told us that Lviv has been known for its beer making expertise since the 15th century. This brewery was established in 1715 by Jesuits monks, which I found quite interesting. Ivanka told us that one of the responsibilities of the Jesuits was education therefore the science of beer fell under their jurisdiction and they experimented with different herbs and flavours to find interesting combinations. The museum showcases old beer bottles and recipes to name a few things. They also sell huge beer mugs, one of which my son had to purchase. Apparently they hold a whole litre of beer.
In the basement in what was once the brewery cellar was a bar that you could purchase beer in those huge mugs. They also served some interesting pub food. Suffice to say the sausages that looked like pepperettes were not beef, pork or chicken but the boys said they were very good.
This museum is not in Old Town and we had to take a couple of buses to get there but it is worth checking out.

The beer experience gives an overall history of brewing but also a more detailed explanation of how beer shaped the history of Lviv. It is a nicely designed space and the information is in English so while a guided tour may be more informative it is not necessary.
The best part? At the end you reward yourself for all the learning with a flight of beers. As with everything else in Lviv it was extremely inexpensive but quite tasty. They were showing a film in the beer hall while I was there which was nice. Definitely recommend!

The museum gives a good overview of the history of beer and how it related to Lviv. Great interactive exhibitions and there are English explanations. You can get a beer tasting menu at the end where you get a glass of larger, unfiltered, ale, and dark dunkel beer. Everyone's taste is different I'd reserve the unfiltered larger for my worst enemy.
