Excellent Views of Sibenik
Jun 2021
There are great views of Sibenik from the fortress. The fortress is also routinely used as a concert venue. They were setting up for a concert when I was there. It would be a pretty awesome place to listen to some music. It is a bit of a hike up from the harbor but you can also drive there too.

This is how all medieval forts should be!
Sep 2020 • Couples
Croatia is full of medieval forts but they usually disappear in ruins which is sad considering how many we have and how awesome stories can be told about them. Guests visiting our country are missing the opportunity to learn some more about the history. That's why I was so satisfied with St. Michael's fortress, birthplace of City of Šibenik, because it was taken care of. Every step I made inside was experience to remember. Viewpoints, audio guide, maintained paths, preserved walls of the fortress and info boards it let's you learn the history while taking a walk and enjoying the view of Šibenik! This is how all medieval forts should be treated, it is our heritage! Congrats!

Be there at the sunset!
Aug 2020
We really liked our visit to the fortress. First of all, it's easily accessible. Unlike most forts, this one is practically in the old town, and hike up the hill is not tiresome at all.

The fortress is nice, you can get an interactive tablet with the information on the history of the fortress.

But the thing that is the best, the thing that makes the ticket's money worth is the view. We went there at the sunset, and it was one of the best things we've seen that day.

Mighty fortress, standing tall and guarding the City of Šibenik. Cool place whith wonderfull view on the City and the sea in front. Really beautiful and relaxing. Inside you can read about soldiers and architects who over time built and extended the fortress that defended Šibenik from the Ottomans. The fortress offers a stage for concerts and nice bar under the auditorium. Really nice. There are more interesting things to look at like a computer graphic of various representations displayed on the walls inside the fortress in two places. Nice. My love and I liked the fortress. Come and see for yourself.

Very attractive place on top of the old town. If you want to have a great view of the old town of Sibenik and the Sibenik canal, visit the fortress.

A must but go in the morning
Aug 2020 • Couples
It's getting improved every year so now the water cistern are used to display the historical findings in the fortress by using beamers which create nice visual effects.

Go in the morning or in the evening bc we were there at 10 AM and it was already hot.
It's ok to go by foot from the city, even if it seems so uphill, the climb is not that hard.
Cheap tickets... you can buy combined tickets for both fortresses (Barone) for €10.
There is a bar in the shade to relax so don't be afraid of the sun.

Nice view
Aug 2020 • Couples
Guuuyz! I visited the fortress and it was surprisingly awesome. The view at the top is something special, on all sides of the fortress. Beside the view I have the possibility to see the water tanks where an 3D show was organised about the town itself and the St Mihael. Definitely worth of the ticket. 👍

Lovely panoramic view and open air!
So we arrives to Sibenik only for a day from Zadar. The whole bus journey there and back cost us around 110kn which is equivalent too - £12-14.
On arrival we knew where we wanted to go, which was great and first stop was St Michaels Fortress. The ticket cost 60kn each but if you have a student card it's 35kn (but dates need to be on student card)
In arrival you get a water view of who St Michael was and what he achieved which was a lovely touch. Then we did the lovely walk to the top where we got the beautiful view of Sibenik.

Definitely recommend visiting this fortress aswell as the others.

Nice place for a walk
Jul 2020 • Family
The fortres is in a walking distance from the port. Walking in this direction through Sibenik streets is great itself as The City is old and beautifull. There is a lot of shops and restaurants on the way aswell. The fortres itself is for 30 minits visiting aproximetly as beside the georgeuse views there is notging else you can do there. Anyhow is worth seeing.

Night Fortress.
Jan 2020
This fortress is formerly known as St. Anne's Fortress. This fact was the reason of our problem with map. Close to this fortress there is another place with 'Anne' in its name and we, stupid guys, firstly went towards the wrong one.
This medieval fort is situated on a steep hill, above the old historic center of the city. From some parts of city well seen, especially after dusk because of the beautiful lightning. Revitalized through an EU-funded project and now important part of cultural life with open-air summer stage. Must-have.

Dear Dutkowska, thanks for the review! Travelers commonly visit both our fortress and St. Anne's cemetery (which is not open whole year around). That way, your experience was even better - you got to introduce yourself to another important heritage piece of Šibenik! Come again soon! Best! Iva
