We were there in the evening and had some vine and cocktails. Both really good with reasonable prices. There was also a concert that evening so we really enjoyed the view and the music. The climb seemed too much for us so we got there by taxi but we went back by foot and it took us 5 minutes to get back to the town. It looks so far away when you're in the city but it's really not that far....

The unforgettable view from this fortress is simply spectacular. If it’s a hot day you’ll probably get a little tired of coming to Fort Barone but it’s definitely worth it.

The town calls this the Fortress of Culture, presumably because it contains a small museum. It is quite a simple fortress, one of three fortresses in and around the town. You can get some superb views accross the town and out to sea - but to be perfectly honest the town has little merit. The small museum is of interest and it is all modern. There is also a small shop and a modern cafe. Overall a pleasant place - better than the town which has the most appalling traffic congestion - and it can be access quite easily.

Dear Visitor, thank you for the review! Public Institution Fortress of Culture Šibenik manages two revitalized Šibenik's Fortresess, St. Michael's and Barone Fortress. Institution takes care of Šibenik's fortification system heritage and manages its sustainable use by organizing cultural events for citizens and visitors of Šibenik, mostly from May till October. But there is attraction that's always available - AR, every visitor can take a walk on Barone Fortress and witness Šibenik’s past using the augmented reality device that can be rent for free in souvenir shop. Hope that you enjoyed your time on Barone, and that you'll be able to visit us again to experience Fortresses and our town in a completely different light. Best regards, Barbara
