You will want to visit the Land Gate as early in the day as possible if you want to avoid the throngs of tourists seeking to take 'selfies' with the gate and its Venetian Lion in the background. It is a very cool gate. Cross...More

We stayed in Zadar for 2 nights while getting over our jet lag. We booked a small apartment outside of old town and across the street from Kolovare Beach. We were about a 10 minute walk to old town and it felt very safe. The...More

The grandest of the entrances into the Old city of Zadar, the Kopnena Vrata or the Landward Gate is a MUST see on any itinerary. Built in imitation of a Roman Triumphal Arch, it is quite the imposing statement to Venice's long presence on the...More

Nice city with old original roman buildings and sight worth seeing. The pedestrian area is also worth walking around.

Great place to see especially as it is linked to the core existence of Zadar City and the famous "Siege of Zadar"..

The gate is beside a small harbour in old town centre. It is more of car passage. But two small gates are for pedestrians. It is part of the wider ancient scene of Zadar

Try and go into the old city in the evening to visit the Old Roman Forum and poossibly have dinner before leaving. After dark the gate is floodlit and there are fewer people around

Best view is from the park above. But the best walk is coming from the small harbour , walk through the gate and then up to the park. The park must be heaven on a warn summers day.
