Roman building right in the centre of Pula

This square is full of Roman attractions. The Temple of Augustus was unfortunately closed but the building is really amazing, dominated to the square.

Beautiful and well preserved Roman temple, dedicated to Roman emperor Augustus, probably built during his lifetime. It is situated in the center of the city, at one of beautiful squares, next to the Communal Palace. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Lots of tourists.

We saw this as part of a walking tour in Pula; it is situated next to Pula Town Hall. It is open to the public but when we were there was an exhibition (?) inside and we did not have time to go in.

This square is my favorite place in Pula to just sit and relax. The temple is in great condition and the museum is really worth to see even though it's small.

If you are in Pula it's well worth hunting this out, great back drop for some photos. There is a small display of Roman artefacts inside, it is a reasonable 10 Kuna entry fee.

If you are in Pula and wandering around, it’s an impressive structure and definitely worth a walk past to see it. Will defer to those that have actually gone in to provide that review, but everyone we talked to coming out said there was no need to go in. Wander around and see this, the arch/gate, the arena, etc. I... More

Due to the war the temple I think has been rebuilt several times. The inside is now used as a store with few artifacts. Not that impressed

We visited this temple the other day while strolling around the old town. It faces the old forum space, which is still busy with people and tourists. The temple itself is beautiful, as it is still largely complete and elegant. There is a small room with some antique statues and other items from Roman times, but this is only recommended... More

Especially in combination with the Arena the temple of Augustus provides insight in how Romans lived and worshipped. Probably most valued by those interested in Roman history.
