I made plans to visit Croatia during a recent trip to Europe. I chose Istria tours based on the reviews on TripAdvisor. I wanted a custom tour that focused the food, wine, people and history of this area of Croatia. I wasn't sure what to expect but the two day tour Sini put together was nothing short of spectacular! Three winery visits and tastings, a fantastic visit to an olive oil producer, The visits to Motovun and Rovinj were great! Truffle and Istrian ham tastings, a great restaurant on Pula Harbor and a dinner reservation at Batelina which one New York Times critic called "one of the 10 best restaurants in the world". What an amazing dinner and evening! Sini is very knowledgeable in all aspects of Croatia. He knows history, food and wine and is very passionate about his work. He is also very friendly and has a great sense of humor! It was a pleasure getting to know him! He also made some great recommendations for activities during the days we were not touring with him. Included in the price of the tour was a 4 night stay at a very nice and comfortable apartment Sini rents. It has views of the Adriatic and is a short bike ride to the beach. The tour Sini put together for us was definitely a highlight of my trip to Europe. I highly recommend Sini and Istria Tours! Croatia is amazing! I will be back!

We were 5 couples travelling in Istria for a week. We hired Sini on two separate occasions based on the great reviews and we were not disappointed.
The first day he drove with us (we had rented 2 cars for the week) from our base in Porec to the mountaintop villages of Groznjan and then Motovun. Sini gave us an overview of the history of the area and the town as we walked along the cobblestones. We would have liked a bit more time here as it is an artist colony with a lot of shops to explore and it would have been nice to bring some form of art from the town home.
In Motovun we again learned the history of the town and Big Joe as we walked around. We had an excellent tasting of olive oils, balsamic vinegars, truffles etc at a shop and we all ended up buying something to consume once back home.
Once back in Porec we had a tour of the historic and shopping areas of the town.
On our second day with Sini we went to Rovinj and then the Lim fjord. Rovinj is beautiful and we heard all about the fascinating legend of St. Euphemia. We had some time to explore on our own (shop!) before heading to the Lim fjord. Here we took a 1 hour boat tour down the channel which in the end we could have skipped. But lunch afterwards at a restaurant across from the pier was great- whole fish fresh from the Lim Channel baked in a salt crust.
Overall we had an enjoyable and informative 2 days with Sini. He speaks English very well and is extremely knowledgeable. He put up with the 10 of us and all our questions and comments and driving over 2 days.
Thanks Sini! We love your country and hope to return for the third time soon!

Sini was our first experience hiring a tour guide. He was amazing! Istria is tough to get around if you don't have a car. We went with a tour guide so we would be able to see Motovun and Rovinj. Sini was much more than transportation. He was so kind, generous and helpful. We both felt super confortable with Sini. His kindness and knowledge were amazing. If you want to learn about and enjoy istria we recommend a tour with Sini!

My parents and I spent a memorable day with the owner of this company Sini Sljukic in July. I booked him via his website/email and he was very prompt and professional. I had a good feeling about him immediately and we were not disappointed. He picked us up from our accommodation in Pula on time in a very comfortable mini van. During the day we went to Porec, Lim Fjord and Rovinj. Sini speaks excellent English and is extremely knowledgeable, personable, easy going and a fun tour guide. He can tailor make any tours requested. The day before he had even taken a couple to Plitvice and back. He also has an apartment to rent and can do airport transfers. I would thoroughly recommend Istria Tours to anyone visiting Pula. Sini is the local expert!!

Sini drove us through Istria and we got to see, taste and feel the countryside as well as beautiful seaside. What a wonderful place Istria. So vividly full of history since long before Christ!
Sini is a real pro in his line of duty and we enjoyed his company very much.

Sini met us in Rovinj and it was really nice that I could decide which towns we would see on this tour. First we left Rovinj and headed to Porec. We walked through the old town and Sini gave us a lot of information about the town. After we had sufficient time in Porec, we headed to Groznjan and walked through the town. We even visited an artist who was busy working from his home. We had time to have some coffee here at a cafe. Afterwards we left and headed to Motovun. After parking his van, we walked slightly uphill to the center and then we walked around the wall. We had an option to eat lunch here but declined because we weren't that hungry. We did some shopping here buying some truffle products. Sini showed us some stores we could shop at and had free truffle tasting, along with wine, cheese, and meats. Then we took a drive to Pula. We weren't interested in doing a walking tour here like the other three towns. I just simply wanted to see some of the major sights. Afterwards, we left Pula and headed back to Rovinj. It was a great day. Sini was informative and professional and the price was fair considering all that we had seen. We highly recommend this company as it was a tour that we will never forget. The van had A/C and the seats were very comfortable. You can't do something like this on your own. We returned in time to have dinner in Rovinj. Thank you Sini for an amazing day!

Myself, my mother and my sister (with my nephew 5 years old) booked a trip through Sini after searching online and struggling to find a private tour.

We were picked up promptly at 09:00 and left from Rabac to our first stop in Piran, Sini was very pleasant, assisted my family members in and out of the vehicle which was pleasantly air conditioned and kept us informed on route.

We went through passport control and took a walk around Piran, we agreed a spot to meet up after our free time and we were on our way again.

In Koper, Sini took us for a walk round to familiarise ourselves and again we had some free time (little extra for lunch) and then again met up before heading home.

We had thought about adding another part to the tour unfortunately time constraints meant I couldn't see the castle however Sini was very open about this.

I can't fault the trip and it gave us a day in Slovenia we otherwise wouldn't have had.

Sini is an incredible font of information. We set up a private tour with him and visited Pula, Motovun, and Rovinj We learned so much history and we were able to see all the sites. It was a terrific way to see these cities on a tight schedule. The history in Pula is not to be missed. The amphitheater is breathtaking and you get a much closer look at the monument than you would at the Colosseum in Rome. Motovun was incredible-its a little village settled on top of a mountain. The views are unreal and the town is well preserved. It feels as though you have traveled back in time. Make sure to eat at Mondo while you are there. Delicious food at amazingly affordable prices. Rovinj is beautiful as well- we just wish we had worn our swimsuits so we could have taken a quick swim. Overall I would highly recommend tours with Sini to anyone visiting the Istria area- it's completely worth the money! Thank you Sini! - Kate and Danny Stupin

My partner and I had a fantastic walking tour of Pula with Sini. Sini is a lovely guide and has great knowledge of his home town! I have no hesitation in recommending Sini as a tour operator if you want to get to understand Pulas history!
