From Dubrovnik we drove by the Konavle region with our private guide and explored the beautiful Bay of Kotor. Montenegro's main draw is its beautiful coastline, dotted with delightful Venetian-era fortified towns, home to excellent seafood restaurants and set against the dramatic mountains of the interior. We had fun exploring the UNESCO World Heritage–listed city of Kotor. Highlights of this tour were,
FLOATING CHURCHES: Gospa od Skrjelo (Our Lady of the Rock), a lovely church perched on a tiny islet, opposite Perast, just outside Kotor.
MEDITERRANEAN VILLAGES: We drove Zigzag down the mountain road above Kotor to get a full view of the bay including Kotor, Perast, and the other villages clustered around the sapphire water of the Mediterranean’s only fjord.
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS: In Kotor, we climbed to St. John's Fortress, following the medieval walls for postcard views.
