Lopud is worth a stop as you cruise Croatia's archipelago. For nature lovers, the botanical gardens are phenomenal. For foodies, the ice cream is even better (according to our guide, the best in all Croatia). A very nice respite.

We went to the Lopud island by a Jadrolinija boat that leaves from the new port which turned out to be considerably cheaper than a trip to Elaphiti islands offered everywhere in the city. The island is nice and you have to either walk or take a small "taxi" to reach the Sunj beach. The beach was crowded and dirty... More

We were "dumped" here for two and a half hours during an organised cruise of the Elafiti islands. Not being sun worshippers or wishing to swim, after 20 minutes we had done what there was to see. A few local souvenir shops some bars and restaurants. The rest of our time was trying to avoid the steering heat of the... More

I loved swimming in this island and my child too. Water is shallow and clean. We spent our time playing with water sun tan. Delicious ice cream. Views are so charming.

Took ferry from Gruz Port and it stopped at Kolocep first. Nice to sit on the upper deck and see the views but an enclosed cabin and bar is available. Landed at one end of the port and walked along the front past a few shops, bars and restaurants. Didn't see any cars there. Took the golf buggy (10 kuna)... More

We took a ferry from Dubrovnik to Lopud for a day trip. The ferry deposited us in the main port which is charming, small shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. There is. Beach there but we elected to walk up and over the hill to the sandy beach of Sunj on the other side of the island. This is a great beach... More

A wonderful 11 days on this great island. Top tip; book accommodation with your flights and get the transfers as it's much less restrictive than the v ferries and private transfers will set you back a hefty packet. We stayed in the Lopud Residence which are apartments at the back of and belonging to Hotel Vilina. It wasn't cheap but... More

Lopud is located one hour from Dubrovnik by boat. Very small island with one hotel and "lots" of nice restaurants and one proper beach called sunj. We had very nice day on this island.

After 3 days in the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik we moved to the island of Lopud and were delighted when we arrived there after the boat journey. What a beautiful island, there are no cars there so apart from the odd golf buggy taxi it is very quiet and relaxing.

We were looking for a day at the beach to escape from the craziness of Dubrovnik. The ferry to Lopud only cost 23 Kuna to get there. Super cheap and easy. When we arrived, we walked a bit until we found the golf cart guys who drove us to the beach. Worth the 15 kuna! At the beach, we easily... More
