We actually stayed on Lopud for 6 nights as part of a sea kayak tour. It was tranquil and quiet but we were there at the start of May, so I guess it gets a lot busier during the summer months. With the protected bay...More

This island is wonderful. Busy during the day when boats of tourists arrive, but serene and peaceful from late afternoon. No cars on the island, but golf carts can be hired. A few small shops, seaside restauramts and a beautiful beach and sunshine - what...More

What a beautiful place, stopped here while we were on a private boat trip. Peaceful, a few shops and restaurants on this part although you could travel to another part which was supposed to be even more beautiful, we didn't have time for this. Stopped...More

Lopud island is a lovely place. The beach is much nicer than the beaches of Dubrovnik. Peaceful and tranquil and doesn't feel as touristy as Dubrovnik. Getting back from there on the last ferry can be a bit of a nightmare, so time your trip...More

Like many of the islands off the Dalmatian coast Lopud had a balance between rough geography and little sheltered beaches that gave it a serene feeling. With clear blue waters you couldn't help but fall in love with the island.

We stopped here on our tour of the Elafiti Islands. It was about an hour from Dubrovnik and was a nice quiet place to visit in early April. Only a couple of shops and one café were open.

Lopud is a very nice excursion to make from Dubrovnik. It is about an hour's ship ride from Dubrovnik's Port Gruz. The small town is quaint and peaceful. The beach, about a 20-minute walk from town, is one of the very few sandy beaches in...More

Hello, how far is the walk from the ferry drop off to the monasteries? And if you rent a golf cart are they available near the port? Thank you!

The monastery is only a few steps to your left. But if you can, confirm whether it's open to the public as there was restoration work going on when I was there and it was closed. They rent golf carts right at the ferry drop... More

Public transport can be obtained in Dubrovnik at the ferry terminal. There's a lot going on with the cruise ships, but forget everything and head towards the ferry that takes the islanders and touring people on a small ferry... More
