About
Buža translates to “a hole in the wall”, and here you’re expected to do just that—walk through an actual hole in the wall to get to this hidden bar. There are steps that lead to the water, and adrenaline seekers try your hand at cliff jumping. Sitting perched on a rock ledge, it's also a great spot for watching the sun set over the Adriatic Sea. There are snacks, beer, and a limited selection of bottled wines on offer; bring enough Kuna to pay as it is cash only. And toilet facilities here are said to be basic at best. – Tripadvisor

- Tomás BDublin, Ireland6 contributionsSaved by the locationIt's all about the view, the novelty, the location. Service is mediocre as are the quality of drinks provided. Tables can be hard to come by, and the prices - even by Dubrovnik standards - are bordering on extortionate. But all that aside I have to admit it's a really cool place to kick back for an hour. Also, the swimming area is public access. You don't need to buy anything. They don't own it. Was told that handy tidbit by a local yesterday!Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 12, 2023
- Bonnie G5 contributionsGreat Stop in Old TownSuch a fun spot to grad a beverage when exploring the old town. It does get very busy, but if you can find a table the reward is great views of the old walls, the sea, and Lokrum Island. The staff was friendly and the vibe was laid-back.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 17, 2023
- Marijana D3 contributionsGreat place with an amazing viewGreat place to watch sunset. Beautiful view and you can also swim there if you're a good swimmer (rock beach). Unfortunately, this year they're not allowed to have tables in the bar, but still worth going there. Great staff also!Visited June 2024Traveled soloWritten July 3, 2024
- Stephen Hall3 contributionsGo for the rock jumping not the bar.It was very busy when we went (early afternoon). The chance to jump in from high on the rocks was an adrenaline rush however the bar itself was disappointing. There were no tables or chairs to sit at and no alcohol was being served plus soft drinks were €5 for a small bottle of coke. Suggest you search it out for the rock jumping but nothing else as it is overrated!Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 29, 2024
- gregeogTynemouth, United Kingdom179 contributionsGreat early morning spotStaying in the old town so popped to Buza Bar at 8am as had previously seen it get much busier with the cruise hauls of people. Only ones there, great spot for cliff jumping and swimming in lovely waters and having your own space. Defo recommend !Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 2, 2024
- Kimberley PBath, United Kingdom19 contributionsGreat great great!Gorgeous place. Great drinks and loving swimming area! Lovely place to swim and meet really lovely people. - Ra11 contributionsNarnia in the old city walls !Such a cool place ! We discovered it by chance as we had not researched the bars yet but we were walking by and somebody just opened the door in the city walls to Narnia ! Like a magical portal, don’t know or care about the drinks but the cliff jumping was awesome ! Must visit !Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 11, 2024

People raved about this place and said it was one of the best places for the sunset view, so we went up there at 5ish to secure our spot.
Planned to get some drinks to wait for the Sun go down, oh well, on the menu, it said “Cash Only” and we hadn’t got enough kunas on hand as we were leaving Croatia tomorrow, and the corresponding Euro price was listed alongside Kunas, so I got my Euro ready. When I was about to order my drinks, the lady at the counter said “Kunas only”. Okay, if you were not going to accept Euro, why did you bother to list the Euro price on the menu? It was so annoying!

The bar is of course unique and in a fabulous location. However it’s become very touristy which has caused the drink prices to rise dramatically. It’s also good to know they don’t have a toilet. It’s a nice place to experience and stop in for one drink or a swim but I wouldn’t stay long.

We went approx 7pm on a Tuesday, we managed to get a seat as I assume people were leaving after sunset. Stunning place, one of a kind. Guardians of the galaxy soundtrack which was a bonus ha! Basic drink options but you pay for the whole ‘experience’. Alcoholic drinks approx £5 each. Staff were friendly. Would definitely like to come back here.

We came here for a drink as I read loads of people online recommending it. The views are fantastic (but you can the same views in other places that are cheaper like Beach Bar Dodo)
Prices were more expensive but we expected that as it seems a tourist hotspot especially with its location. They only take cash payments so bear that in mind, it also gets really busy so you might struggle to find a seat.
We stayed for 1 beer and then went elsewhere, probably wouldn’t go back next time we are in Croatia

Our GOT tour guide told us about this bar and warned us that they only take kuna (not euros). You enter through a door in the wall and sit on cliffs overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Breathtaking! We could have sat there drinking Osječko all day, but we got hungry and all they serve are nuts to eat.

First it’s important to mention that there is no sunset view. There is still beautiful sea view but definitely no sunset. The place is very simple but prices are quite high. I believe that for beer and wine 6-10 euro they could offer glasses instead of single-use plastic cups.

The bar is on the cliff face which should be phenomenal but was underwhelming. It has become so popular that it’s packed with people making it difficult to move around. There were queues on the way to get in and on the way to get out. There were very few seats and those that they did have were taken, staff are run ragged and come across as stressed out/rude. We went for sunset, but you can’t see the sun set because there is a cliff edge in the way.

Waitress didn’t inform us before taking an order that the place is cash only, whatever we ordered from the menu was “out of stock”. When I went to pay I saw the hand-written note on the wall that they don’t accept credit cards, but it was not just the credit cards but cards in general. The waitress seemed to be very annoyed when I said that we didn’t know that this was a cash only place. I personally think that it is not worth going there, unless you just want a soft drink or beer/cider.

There are two Cafe Buza. One is larger than the other. We went to the small one for a pre-dinner drink and to catch the sunset. It has been raining in Dubrovnik this day and was still overcast, so no sunset. We ordered Espresso Martini’s and just sat and enjoyed the ambiance.
This cafe is entered through a small hole in the Dubrovnik City Wall that is barely marked. You kind of need to know what you are looking for. You can find small tables and chairs on various tiers along the outside of the wall. In better weather, you can even jump off the rocks and swim in the ocean in these spots. No such luck for us this day. It’s an ideal location for a drink at any time. The drinks are good, but not amazing. You are paying for location and views…and it’s worth it! Great experience. I highly recommend at least one…or maybe 3 drinks at Buza.

Hi there
I want to book a table in June 2019.
How did I get hold of someone to book a table?
When is the best time for a sunset view??
Ami
Written April 3, 2019
No tables to book. It’s first come, first served. Buza is a little bar carved into the cliff. Just chairs, some tables, bottled drinks (and nothing too fancy), only bags of peanuts if you’re hungry, and a magnificent view. It’s simple, totally not fancy, and that’s the beauty of it. As for the sunset, you’ll have to check the forecast and timing as you get closer to June.
