Picturesque buildings. Lots of souvenir shops, many aimed at cruise ship clients. Best to visit early or late when not so full of tourists. Best to wander up the side streets for more authentic atmosphere.

I have lots of fond memories of the Stradun from previous visits. Plenty of restaurants, bars and tourist shops. Lots of great images to be taken. There was even a newly wed couple this time having their photos taken which was a lovely scene to behold.

Such an amazing street. Shiny limestone cobbles, beautifully restored buildings. Too many tourists at the height of the day, so try to visit early in the day of later, after 5. You are harranged by restaurant promotors but they are quite happy if you just say no thank you - they are not as persistent as promoters elsewhere in Euripe... More

The Main Street of the Old Town is paved with rectangular white pieces of stone instead of the usual cobblestones. It is less painful to the feet. On one end is the Pile Gate where there is an entrance to the Walls. Near here is the Franciscan Monastery. Beautiful buildings stand among residential buildings. Stores and restaurants line the street.... More

You must do the city at night, especially in the summer when it is very hot during the day. The ambiance is amazing, with music, and lovely outdoor restaurants everywhere. I suggest that you seek out the smaller restaurants near the city wall behind the cathedral.

This is the main thoroughfare that cuts the old town in half, linking Pile Gate with the old harbour. Wander up it and take in the atmosphere and architecture, stopping to browse in the many small shops on route.
