It's not recommended to go for a day . We went on the ferry but it's nearly 2 hours to get there and the same back . Not a bad price but leaves only about 5-6 hours on the island . Go swimming in the salt lakes . It's worth a visit for that reason . And it's a National... More

One of the 8 national parks of Croatia. An island with 2 lakes and another island on one of the lakes. Need I say more?

I went on a small trip to island of Mljet in June. I loved every minute of it. Sand beaches, amazing fish restaurants, National park, great time with domestic people. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. I recommend to visit this island as MUST! And when I wrote "Paradise" in the title I really meant it!

Very very nice and quite place. Rent a bike and go to national park, but the entrance is up the hill. You can rent one in the park, don't forget to bargain : )

If you want to go in unspoiled nature with beautiful warm water and wild beaches on the rocks where you feel as if you are alone in the island this is a place for you. Small "lake" is pure perfection with its turquoise water and peacefulness. Advice if you want to be a bit alone go on the left side... More

The national park is definitely worth a visit. We took the 8.00 ferry to Polace and came back to Dubrovnik with the 16.50 ferry. A return ticket was 140 kunas. Would recommend staying overnight to be able to enjoy the island fully (or renting bikes to cut down on walking time).

We hired bicycles to circle the lake in Mljet National Park. We were told to turn right when we got to the lake. Beware.... Signage is poor! No individual map given and large map on board not orientated correctly! Over 2 km's before u reach the lakes on a main road and rough gravel track down to the lake. If... More

The landscape is really beautiful with pine forest covering the slopes until the Sea, very nice small sea water lakes . We just regret that we spend only one day there while is certainly deserves more than that.

I visited Mljet island and National Park Mljet. It is very nice place. You can buy tickets in the Pomena city and then visit Big and Small lake. It is cery nice nature there and you can also rent bicycles, scooters, kayak and much more there!

If you like to snorkel (no need to dive) you'll love the National Park end of this island. Right on the inland side of the bridge over the large lake (where the lake meets the ocean) there is a coral reef. Too awesome!
