We remembered watching Game of Thrones, and seeing this Fort in some of the episodes. The views from the shore are just spectacular!

The fort is at the mouth of the Dubrovnik west harbour and is a well known film location. The fort itself has panoramic views looking out to sea aswell as good views of the old town. You can pay to just visit this fort, but i recommend getting a pass for the old town wall which includes the fort. The pass was 200 kunas.

I would recommend either coming up to the fort or booking a tour if you like Game of Thrones. Lots of scenes in the 'Red Keep' on the show are filmed in and around the Fort. There is also a viewing platform at the top offering great views of the Old City.

For me this was the second attraction that Dubrovnik has to offer after The City Walls. Be sure that you visit The City Walls and The Fort on the same day because the ticket for The City Walls offers you free entry here. This is one of the settings where GOT was filmed so it is very likely to meet some GOT fans during the visit. The fort offers 360* views over Adriatic Sea, Old Town and the setting where King’s Landing Harbour is. The Venetians tried to build a fort on the same spot where the locals have built it but the locals did not agree with them. It is a great attraction 7 mins walk away from Pile’s Gate.

The views from this Fort are impressive. There are a few locations here and nearby that were used in Game of Thrones and you will recognise them as soon as you see them. Again the history attached to this Fort and area is fascinating and the views out to the sea and down on the Old Town are fantastic. A photographers dream. If you have a City Wall ticket then your entrance to this landmark is free so definitely good value and worth the experience.
