Don't be tempted to try and 'just fit this in'. To appreciate what the walk has to offer, allow at least 2 to 3 hours. The views inside to the city and outside to the surrounding landward and seaward sides are stunning. Beware though that the steps are steep in places and there is little shade. A couple of places... We were told this would take 2 hrs and we think this is only because of the many watering holes along the way! Beautifully preserved and every corner you take you get a different perspective of this city. A lot of steps do not suitable if you not fit or got bad knees and a shame people feel the need... More

It is worth buying a Dubrovnik City Card before visiting the walls. The cost is 170kn for 1 day or 250kn for 3 days. The cost of visiting the walls alone is 150kn. The walls encircle the old city and they operate a one way system. There are a number of steps to climb but it is not too strenuous... More

You need to be fairly mobile in order to climb these walls as there are over 1000 steps, some of which are quite steep. The climb is well worth it for the stunning views. Cafes are limited and there are no restaurants.

What a delightful and wonderful visit. The wall is gorgeous with absolutely stunning views of the Old City. There are steps galore, but worth every one!!

this is definitely must go in Dubrovnik old town. You will see Dubrovnik from different perspective. Take and advantage of Dubrovnik card, where you will find access to city wall, fort Lovrejac, access to museum on the way on city walls and of course some bus rides. I recommend to have this walk in the morning during the day there... More

Although it is quite expensive to walk around these Ancient Walls, it is a must see as you will have the most beautiful view of the Old Town a.k.a. King's Landing, for our Game of Thrones fans. You can very easily explore new locations you want to visit next!

We had the happiest day walking the ancient city walls of Dubrovnik - the views of the coastline are spectacular and the entire centre of Dubrovnik is frozen in time and completely unspoilt. We had two young children with us (our own!) so it was as much about grabbing an ice-cream and shopping at the beautiful little stores as it... More
