I rarely go into jewelry shops because I design jewelry myself, but was intrigued by the signage that talked about a demonstration. We had no idea that we would get such a wonderful education about natural red coral. Nikolai demonstrated the steps in cleaning and polishing coral which we found fascinating. We then talked about some of the other stones used along with the coral in the displays. He was delighted to talk with someone knowledgeable about gemstones and we spent quite a bit of time there, finishing up in the basement room viewing some vintage jewelry. Nikolai was able to engage my husband in the conversation, which isn't always easy because he considers jewelry "my thing." I highly recommend anyone interested in jewelry to make the time to visit, right in the heart of Dubrovnik.

Anything you want to know about real Adriatic coral dived from the depth of 50 to 80 metres can be found in this special workshop and museum. The jewellery on show is breathtakingly beautiful and grand, there are also smaller items in the collection. Pieces of coral in different stages of production can be seen on the workbench, among other languages also Chinese is spoken.

I visited this shop as it had good reviews. We were assisted by Nikolai who was very chatty and friendly. He took the time to explain the different types of coral and the process of cleaning and polishing it. I saw a pair of earrings I liked but wasn't sure as I had just about another pair so returned the next day and ended up purchasing a coral and turquoise bracelet as well! Thank you for your hospitality Nikolai :)

The designs are unique and beautiful

If you want to learn about how coral is harvested and then made into beautiful jewelry, spend some time with the delightful Vittorio at his shop. He makes spectacular one-of-a kind pieces and is happy to explain the entire jewelry making process. It really opened our eyes, and helped us understand the difference between his pieces and the thousands you see in the tourist shops on the main street. His bracelets were a bit large for me, so his assistant painstakingly resized one for me and made earrings out of the extra stones at no additional cost. Don't miss this place and the best ice cream in Dubrovnik next door.

Wanted to buy EVERYTHING in the store. Gorgeous jewellery, amazing service (thank you Nikola!), and delightful surroundings. Just learning about coral makes a visit worthwhile-never mind the beautiful pieces you will be unable to resist!

I was recently on a cruise and visited many ports. While in Dubrovnik we came across this small shop on a side alley. Vittorio Ceccarini, director and owner is incredible. The pieces are so unique and beautiful. I purchased a set of earrings to match a Mediterranean coral ring purchased in Sorrento, Italy. They are so unique and eye catching. They will also show you how the coral is polished and fashioned into jewelry. Be sure to look at both shops on either side of the alley!

We had ample free time in Old Town and found the shop/factory of Clara Stones. We had a lovely explanation of all things coral and decided on 2 bracelets thst had to be sized down.

A souvenir from Dubrovnik from the shop that was recommended as selling the real thing. We will think of the superior customer service and our Croatian holiday each time we wear our jewelry. Thank you!

Nikola is a true artist who makes coral and other jewellery which is in a different class to 99% of the jewellery shops we have visited or browsed in Croatia. He sources his corals carefully and fashions them with great respect to the scarcity of the material. He is also keen to show you how the coral is turned from its raw state and was generosity itself in helping us out when an earring was lost. Don't bother going into any other shops if you are looking for the genuine article.

A fascinating shop full of most imaginative jewellery in red Adriatic coral is just some steps from Stradun. There are big showy necklaces, fragile earrings and smaller pendants to keep on a chain. The designs are unique rising to a higher esthetic level compared to other shops. I was lucky enough to get the full tour as Nicola told me about the licensed coral divers who work even in 60 metres depth locating expertly the corals to collect. We went also down the stairs to look at the vintage jewellery collection with pink Pacific coral.

We stopped by here and had a very interesting talk to the chap. He prepares the coral in the shop and explains in detail how different pieces are made. This is authentic licensed coral from Croatia and Asia. Some lovely contemporary work too.
