From what I am told this is one of only two "sandy" beaches in Dubrovnik. The rest are concrete platforms with access to the water. While this beach did have some sand, it was full of rocks making it hard to get to the water....More
We visited this place this week (early April) and what a beautiful place. The weather was cool at just 16 degrees but we went for the view and to just play with the children. In the summer time I can imagine this place being amazing!...More
This beach has a few special features: It is quiet because difficult to reach, it has its own monestary (same name) above and it has probably the best view on the City of Dubrovnik. I like it particularly in the afternoon and for sunset in...More
The only minus for this beach is its location. It's pretty far away from the Old Town and there is not a bus to take you there so either need to take a taxi or go on foot. The drink prices are pretty high, but...More
We spent a day here relaxing in a sun lounger and soaking up the view. The loungers were 50kn each which I thought was well worth it.
The sea is crystal clear, although the beach is very stoney so being beach shoes if your sensitive....More
Even in late October it was lovely and sunny. We got a boat from the old town to here and stayed for a few hours, the boat then picked us up. Lovely and relaxing beach and really clear water for swimming
Visiting in early October, this perfect little beach is as near Paradise as it gets. The excellent bar and restaurant were open - albeit with a limited food and drink menu as the season was almost over and all supplies arrive via a hoist which...More
If you go to Dubrovnik, go through the Old City to the marina and book a water taxi or a Glass Boat to take you to Sveti Jakov Beach. Go to the wonderful restaurant right on the beach where you can have a wonderful meal...More

Hello there Vilan we didn't catch a water taxi we caught the round trip boat - they are lined up at the back gate of the old town on the waterfront, vying for customers. They will drop you at Jakov's Beach and pick you up again with another ferry (you tell them how long you want to stay) and it costs ten euro for this service. We were a bit afraid they wouldn't pick us up but they did, as they promised, and even if they didn't you could really almost walk back to the town.
I don't know what else you can do on the beach besides swimming and dining, but you could possibly do the long walk back to the town (not sure how long it is) and see places along the way? There are also round trips that the ferry boats (they are only small boats) do and you could perhaps hop on one of those.

The lounger and umbrella was 50kn each for the day. Well worth it as it get's crazy got during the day and as it is very pebbly, chilling on a towel on the ground is not so great. You can read more of my Sveti Jacov tips on... More
