About
At Malvasija Wine Bar we offer a wide selection of rewarded wines from our own production, guided Wine Tasting Experiences and a selected food menu. Our family vineyards are located South of Dubrovnik in the lush Valley of Konavle and in Molunat, the southernmost seaside village in Croatia. We named the winebar after our local white variety Malvasija dubrovacka ~ Malvasia of Dubrovnik, a "must try when in Dubrovnik". Many of the wines on our menu are produced exclusivly for our guests and they are not offered anywhere else. We not only produce wine, but also Extra Virgin Olive Oil from 200year old olive trees. We are looking forward to welcome you! Malvasija Wine Bar

We went looking for a wine bar and this place certainly didn't disappoint. The hostess was knowledgeable and friendly, she asked what we where looking for then recommended a Rose from just outside Dubrovnik that the owner makes himself. He only makes a limited amount of bottles per year, so we felt lucky to get a bottle. I'm not usually into Rose but this was by far the best I've tasted, it uses 4 different grapes, including cabernet and a little Zinfandel. I can't remember the other two bit it's well worth trying on a hot day in Croatia. Our sommelier was fantastic, I can't remember her name but she even gave us the cork on a key ring as a momento. It made the evening even more special.

Nikoli was attentive, polite, informative, knowledgable but never in your space. The interior is small, modern, warming, very very clean, with a warm friendly unassuming ambiance that allows you to sit and consider. I tried D'vinous many times, which was cosy, busy and had numerous wines to taste again with excellent atmosphere, and visited but left Matuscos without purchasing a review all of its own, but this little wine heaven on side street of the old town, was the place for me. You can purchase smaller 0.5 ml tasters, Nikoli offered little samples and was never pushy, just extremely friendly and as I said earlier knowledgable. As we drank, olives and local cheeses found their way to our table, just little details at no cost, left us feeling wanted, apart of the environment. Numerous wines, coffee beers and soft drinks available. Excellent service, very friendly and as much time as you need, every question was answered, little antidotes followed, local history understood and where interest came was expanded upon. A truly wonderful experience a truly not to be missed experience and last but not least, whom ever owns this establishment, in Nikoli you have a truly wonderful employee. I gave it five stars, due to all of the above and frankly being just meters off of the main strada which helps keep it a gem of a place, those who know the old town, will know how frustrating it can be negotiating the thousands of cruise parties following the sky held umbrellas or number boards.

D'Vino was full so based on TA recommendations we went to Malvasija. We were the first ones there. In less than 1/2 an hour they were packed. Nikola (Nik) was wonderfully knowledgable and spot on with his recommendations. We had one of the best reds of our lives and several delightful whites. The red was Elihu.

I would have given this place five stars if only their seating was on the Stradum rather than only on a side street. Although most of the places have this type of seating, which is so quaint and very "Dubrovnik." D'Vino is very cramped, but this place is not, and it feels more local. Great place to relax and during four days in Dubrovnik I think somehow we found two or three times to pause here. Prices are fine, and the friendly Croatian sommelier is quite helpful and knowledgable. Don't miss the Posip white and Plavic Mali red, both indigenous to the region. Try D'Vino, but use this place instead for your "go-to" wine bar in Dubrovnik.

We found this beautiful understated wine bar without the help of trip advisor,Facebook etc.
We sat down and were politely advised by a young lady
( Gelda, who was named after her grandmother) of the most suitable wine to taste.
Her knowledge of the local wine was fantastic and the taste more than lived up to the history behind the making.
It was a wonderful experience made even more special by Gelda and the fact that we didn’t use social media!!,however this is most certainly the numero uno of wine bars !!!

After an evening of wandering the streets with my grandma, she picked this place to sit and enjoy a “nice wide glass of the boost-juice,” as she calls it. Of course I was all in. We ordered a cheese platter, and of course grandma gobbled it down like the IRS was about to start a chase scene through the streets of Dubrovnik. We had a nice conversation about yellow bellied marmots vs honey badgers, and even the waiter said his two cents. In the end, grandma wanted to check out “the scene,” so we moved on. But not before we had a chug off of Merlot vs Malbec. Grandma won, naturally.

Popped in on while wine bar hopping and decided to stay for a few more. Owned by a wine maker and the staff really knew their wine. You can order a flite of three glasses each 0.05 l - or a few flites in our case! Great selection of different Croatian wines!

I've been to Dubrovnik 4 times, and it grieves me that I have not found this place earlier. According to me, this is absolutely one of the best if not the best wine bar in Dubrovnik. It's not luxurious and sumptuous, no marble, no gold, no crystal chandeliers. This place is all about the wine, nothing else. The owner (I think) Nikola possesses an incredible knowledge of Croatian wines that he likes to share. Sometimes places like this get a bit snobbish, but not here, you feel welcome from the start with a warm and open welcome. Are you unsure of what to order, ask, ask and ask again. I was here 3 nights during my visit to Dubrovnik, I highly recommend a visit.

After reading other reviews, my boyfriend and I went to try this place. We were not disappointed! The service (Petra and Nicholas) was exceptional, not just in terms of wine knowledge, but general attentiveness and interesting conversation. The wine was amazing, we too enjoyed the tasting option...the cheese and olives also went down a treat! I cannot thank these lovely two hosts at Malvasija enough for 3 great evenings of gorgeous drinks/great conversation and highly recommend it to anyone.

Is it recommended to make a reservation for mid afternoon/ or early dinner time ?

I'm certain it varies by season and how busy, but when we visited in May there was no need for a reservation. There were two of us and always space outside or inside that was inviting and comfortable!
