It's small but offers a nice little break from the heat and the crowds outside. It's pretty and a good place for a few extra photos. There's a central courtyard with cloistered walkways. I nice but plain little church and a small museum. Not too busy - a bonus when the cruise ships are in.

Great sense of both local commitment and a very committed Fraciscan community. The music was provided by a very profession quartet of young women who were a great addition to the derive. The whole ambience of the church, cloister and ancillary features is very moving and a credit to St Francis

The visit to the church is free, if you enter from the street. The museum is on the side-street, in the antique pharmacy. You can photograph in the cloister, but not in the museum. Admission is Kuna 30 (less than $5)

A spectacular, landmark monastery built in the 1300s, noted for its cloister, library & historic pharmacy displays. It is one of the finest examples of Romanesque-Gothic cloisters abounding with valuable works of art.

When we were there, the monk gives us a little history about the monastery, then took us on a tour of the grounds....it was my first time in a Monastery

Entrance fee was 80 Kuna each but well worth it as the 14th century cloisters are what you immediately walk into. They are all double pillared and lead into a beautiful serene courtyard. There are frescoes all surrounding the cloister and a lovely clock as well. You can also see the bell tower too. We then went into the Franciscan... More

This is the second building on the left after you enter the old town. The altar is not very impressive but when you turn around and look up to see the XVI century pipe organ, that is impresive
