Go to the Old City. There’s much to see there. Also small group tours right there. Pay to walk the Wall. That was my favorite part.

8 days- Venice to Dubrovnik & everything in between-almost! (0 Replies)
Greetings We are a couple with about 10 days to spare in Croatia from Sept 1st (landing in venice) upto Sept 11 (fly out of Dubrovnik). I am aware this is very little time for a country that has so much to offer. We plan to take the ferry from Venice to Rovinj or bus from Zagreb Airport to Rovinj and spend 3 nights there. We are not keen on visting Zagreb for this trip. Day 2 and 3 in Rovinj would be exploring Istria by car- Day 4 - Drive to Split (we want to skip Plitivice)- ...More

Mostar- bus, tour or car rental? (4 Replies)

I am wondering what might be the best option. 1)Renting a car from Split and go to Mostar (1night)and Kotor (1 night) then 1 full day in Dubrovnik 2) Bus from Split to Dubrovnik, then take days tours to Mostar and Kotor. 3) Bus from Split to Mostar, arrive around 2 overnight and then morning bus to Dubrovnik, day trip tour to Kotor from Dubrovnik. Not...More

I would go with option number one..just because it will allow you to do things on your schedule and you will be able to stop at places that look interesting along the way. A neat place to stop on the way from Mostar to Dubrovnik would be Pocitelj. So I would rent the car!

8 night Itinerary Help (3 Replies)

What would be the best way to complete this? I will be flying to and from London. I came up with the following (without having checked transport yet). Day 1 – Fly to Split – Explore Split. overnight stay Day 2 - Day trip to Plitvice Lakes (2.5 hours) - driving. Overnight Split Day 3 – Hvar (ferry without car) ...More

Your Plitvice day will be a very long one. Its closer to 3 1/2 hours each way and about 4-5 hours in the park. To avoid backtracking see If you can fly into Zagreb early in the day, rent a car and drive to Plitvice (about 2 1/2 hrs) and spend the night. Get an early start in the park (aim for close to opening to avoid some of the crowds) and head to Split midday. You could then do 2 nights Split, 2 nights Hvar, 3 nights Dubrovnik. Alternatively, you could drive to Zadar after Plitvice for...More
