Occupying a lovely beach side location, guests travel by land and sea to get to Banje – there’s even a private pier to anchor your dingy, boat or yacht. During the day, this is a superb, seafood-orientated restaurant with a decent repertoire of...more

This is one of Dubrovnik's most popular beaches. It is located close to the old town past the Ploce gate. For parking you need to park closer to the old town. It has steps leading down to it so would not be accessible to wheelchairs...More

It was a bit chilly when we visited but that didn’t stop the kids from playing in the pebbly sand beach. Rocks to recline on at the end of the beach. Food and drinks if you were hungry/thirsty and beach chairs to rent/hire. Pretty scenery...More

A pebble and gravel beach with beautiful clear blue water on a bright sunny day on the last day of September. Just a short walk from the South Gate of Old Town Dubrovnik. Go down the steps to the restaurant area. You can opt to...More

My beach perceptions are based in the southern USA beaches, so by my standards this beach is a bit crowded, but it is very beautiful. Most beautiful of all is the scenery, the houses on the hills, beautiful at night, definitely enjoyable, and a 3-5...More

We spent an afternoon here. Costly for lounge / umbrella rental and for drinks but that is the cost of paradise.

As this beach was the closest to our apartment we decided to stop by. It's a really good pebble beach with a beach bar and a restaurant. The only negative thing I could say is that the prices of drinks & food are very high...More

This beach is adjacent to a Bar and was full of tipsy crowd that you would normally associate with Spring Break crowd in Cancun or something like that. It didn't really bother us much, but it was just way too many people, you could literally...More

A lot of reviews have failed to mention the beach itself, instead focusing on drinks, service music. And while I will address those let’s start with the beach. The part stone, part rock beach is actually fairly decent. What’s not decent is the huge amount...More

5 days in Dubrovnik - itinerary help (7 Replies)
We're staying in an apartment in the Old Town for 5 days soon and would like some help please for suggestions on the best or most important sights to see or things to do. In no particular order we've thought of the Old Town itself obviously including the walls walk, the cable car and a boat trip maybe to the island of Lorkum although not sure how long to stay there or what to do there. Am I missing anything? We may also walk to Banje beach although we're not lying on the beach people. Is it...More

Hi, I have some questions about the beaches in Dubrovnik (area)... How crowded does Banje beach get in August? Is it better to go to the islands? Also, how much does rental of beach chairs/umbrellas cost? Thanks! :)

In August all of the beaches in Croatia will be crowded. Banje beach is great since you can swim and look at the old harbor and walls of dubrovnik. You could also look into copacabana beach. It might be.a bit better for water activities than banje is, if that is what you are looking for. Banje's east/west club is also pretty convenient. I would suggest you get to banje beach in the morning and get a chair in the first row or two. For the life of me, I can't remember what the charge was for...More
trouble choosing (4 Replies)
Hello. Has anyone stayed at either the Ragusina Luxury apartment or Katinka apartment? There don't appear to be any reviews and I am interested in the following: constant traffic / people noise, stairs, steepness of road, ease to go for a swim- even off the rocks, not necessarily Banje beach. It is very hard to choose as both have merits so would appreciate it if anyone has some first hand knowledge of either place. Thanks in advance.

Both in good locations....I think I would go with Ragusina if it were my choice....close to Old Town with a nice view of the Old Town.
