An old defensive structure built in 1910, by the Frenches. Now it houses a small museum dedicated to the war with Serbia and Montenegro, from the beginning of the 90s. The rooms and all the walls of the building were left in an advanced stage of deterioration. There is a roof terrace that offers wonderful views of the old town an the entire area.

Fort Imperial (Croatian: Tvrdava Imperial) is a centuries-old fortress on Dubrovnik's local mountain, Mount Srd. It was built in the Napoleonic era and now houses the Museum of the Croatian War of Independence. From the terrace and the observation deck you have a wonderful view of Dubrovnik and the sea.

On top of Srd hill, to the left of the cable car. It’s seems to have been left as it survived; it has informative panels, pictures and a few weapons. Some rooms are only in Croatian. There’s a beautiful view from the top, without the cables.
We were waiting for our reservation in the near by restaurant, so it was a way to kill time. It´n not worth the visit just for it.

Bleak reminder of the horrors of this war and bravery of the locals in the face of the siege. Chilling parallels with plight of Ukrainian people as we speak. Definitely worth a visit, cash only so be prepared. We took the hiking trail which is preferable to the cable car if you are fit enough. It takes about 40 mins from the base, and the view is stunning

Drove up to fort Imperial. They road up is single track with a decent number of passing points, but pretty hairy. Good news lots of free parking at the top and the views are spectacular. You could take the cable car but it’s pretty expensive for a family. Restaurant at the peak as well as a gift shop. Worth it for the views.

We decided to Uber here instead of taking cable car as that was cheaper and had no wait.
The views from here are amazing. While it was hot, the breeze made it tolerable for us to hang around there for an hour.
There is also a restaurant there but we didn’t use it. Free toilets are available

We decided to take the cable car a top the mountain overlooking the city. What spectacular views we had from up there. The fort is all the way to the right when you get up there. We loved the large cross that dominates the sky there!

Gorgeous gorgeous views. Took a taxi as we had 6 adults in our group and it was way too hot to hike. Stopped to take pictures before the summit. Wish we could have gotten a reservation for dinner but no reservations were available. HeRd the museum was very interesting. So sad to realize how recent the country was war torn.

We went up on the cable car, ostensibly to admire the view but also to visit the museum that is housed on the ground floor of the fort.
The exhibition information was in Croatian and English. There were moving accounts of the war and films and military paraphernalia.
Well worth a visit and only 30 HRK.

You can walk, drive or take the cable car
We walked from the port to the summit, a bit of a trek but well worth the effort. I strongly recommend sturdy walking shoes for the walk as some of the paths are a bit rugged. But the walk offers some great vistas of the old town
The fort houses a museum about the civil war in 1991-5, it is very patriotic and opened my eyes about something I watched on the news when it was happening but never really engaged with the events.
But don’t forget to go up to the roof of the fort for the best views of the coastline, the old town and the mountain range behind....all spectacular

Is there any other options how to get to this view point except cable car?
How long does it take to walk from the button or how much is the taxi?
