Park is not so big, so you can walk it all in less than an hour. People go to walk their dogs there or to have a light jog. It is right beside the water, and view at sunset is just awesome. We loved it and would visit again, if even in Dubrovnik.

Must do hidden gem near parking. No view of Dubrovnik, but incredible view north up the coast/sunset view. Park could use some cleaning and a few more benches, but has a nice fountain and nice shade. Cool to walk all the up to the ruins at the top. View of Dubrovick from 2 parking spots across the street.

To access Gradac Park by car, there is a parking lot just outside of the Old City. If you are walking, look for Sesame Restaurant, which is just outside of the Old City on the main road. Make a left before the restaurant sign (if you are coming from the Old City) and follow the narrow road up to the park. Basically, the park is right behind Dubrovnik University.
There are a series of shaded paths and stairs leading down to the sea. Once you get down by the water, people spread out towels on the rocks and flat cement platforms to sunbathe. There are quite a few ladders and stairs so you can get into the crystal clear, blue water very easily. Across from the main swimming area is a smaller cluster of rocks where people come with their dogs to sunbathe and swim as well.
In addition to the rocks, there is a small covered patio and chairs where you can sit and get a cold drink (beer, wine, soft drinks) and enjoy the beautiful view. Up the hill from the patio area are two bathrooms.
On a warm, sunny day this is a gorgeous, quiet spot to spend a few hours just outside the Old City of Dubrovnik. Bring your camera, water if you are hiking and a bathing suit if it's swimming weather.

The park per se is nothing special, a very average park you can find in pretty much any city in the world but now famous for being one of the GOT filming locations. It is not even particularly looked after as some sections are in a poor state really.
The pleasant surprise for us though was to realise that it is a great spot for sunset watching as you can get a very clear view of the horizon so we ended up going back there on multiple late afternoons waiting for the sunset.

Found out about this spot through a google search of 'hidden secrets dubrovnik'. It definitely is a hidden secret. It is the perfect sunbathing spot by the sea and great for swimming. There were other visitors but not as many compared to banje beach!! I think locals also use this spot.
To get there from old town walk up past the Hilton hotel until you get to the sesame restaurant. Turn left behind this and continue walking until you reach a car park. There is a footpath down the right side of the car park which leads to this scenic spot. Although it is called a park we did not really explore the park as the swimming spot was so nice! Enjoy!!

We found out about this park from someone who worked at our hotel. It was exactly what we were looking for on a hot August day. The water is crystal clear, and there are plenty of fun places to jump off of the rocks into the water. Our teenagers really loved it.

This park is very easy to find, just a stones throw from Pile Gate. It is famous of course as the scene for the Purple Wedding in Game of Thrones, when Joffrey finally got his comeuppance. The park itself is not large and consists of a few tree lined avenues with a large fountain near the entrance. The best part is perhaps the rocky outcrop of Dance Bay which is a beautiful secluded spot for sunbathing, watching the sunset and generally chilling out, complete with its own beach bar,

The park is easy to access its just outside the Pile gate. A pleasant walk can be had but there is nothing special about the place, it is now mostly famous as the location of the purple wedding in GOT.

Great beautiful park with amazing views.
A piece of quiet just beside the old town.
A place to see, for sure.

Is there anywhere nice to eat in the park or right near it?
Written August 21, 2017
There are plenty of benches for a picnic - or Jazz beach is nearby if you want to sit there. Given its proximity to the old town there are no shortage of eating places there either!
