People expecting large, sandy, Carinbean-type beaches will generally be disappointed in Split. The geology means that that coastline largely consists of steep rock cliffs falling away to the shore, so most of the beaches are a mix of small pebble / stone bays supplemented round about by concrete platforms. This means that beaches get crowded and people set up shop on the concrete as well as the beech itself, which makes it less appealing for an all day visit.
However, the sea is crystal clear and warm. This beach also has a sandy bottom making it more comfortable for standing in the sea. If you swim out 50 metres you escape the crowds and can quickly have the water largely to yourself. There are two rocks here to swim out to and dive off and there is a good cafe / bar just above the beach at the back of the tennis club.
We were staying close by and so tended to just walk down for a swim and come back rather than setting up for a beach day. For that purpose it was ideal.

Quite shallow too but gets better for swimming further out to sea and there is also a deep water area with steps down. Local sports teams use Posk pool for practice but anybody can go there paying some euros. Swimming in the dark warm evening is especially nice. Up the hill by the tennis courts are two bars with good views and loud music serving mainly drinks.

Not a sandy beach a small strip of pebbles and lots of concrete so not terribly pretty. Plenty of natural shade though.
Water was beautifully clear and easy enough to access in the small bay but we saw a number of urchins so definitely best to wear swim shoes. Possible to access water from a number of ladders and steps. Drops off quite steeply so possibly not great for younger children.
Didn't seem as crowded as the other beaches.
There was a small cafe and a few changing areas plus some showers.
Did notice a lot of broken glass lying around which was a shame.
Took a taxi from Split as too far to walk on a hot day cost us 50kuna.

Spent a month in Split September 2017 and Firule was my top beach spots I would walk to weekly! A couple friends and I swam out to the rock just pas the shore and did a little bit of "cliff jumping" It was so fun! Beach was not overly crowded as its a little past bacvice, good spot for quiet and lots of restaurants, cafes, with wifi! Miss Firule beach <3

This is about 10+ minutes walk from Bacvice beach, but this is a very small stretch of sand close to the sea. The wide area of the shallow water of the Adriatic sea on the beach holds several people wandering in the water. Fun to watch, but not worth making a special trip to this place.

FIrule Beach is basically a miniature of the neighboring Bacvice Beach, that is to say its a strip of wet sand surrounded by a slab of concrete. This beach receives a lot of spill over tourists from Bacvice so expect a bunch of foreign teens and twenty-some-year-olds

This happened to be our local beach and we found that it was very good for snorkelling. We didn't sit on the sand beach itself but further around the coastline (2min walk) where there was a pebble section and a concrete section. This also seemed to be where most of the locals sat as well. Good facilities (shower, changing area) and good local cafe bar

It's a small mostly sandy beach poplar with the locals. A few nice bars on it's bounders are worth the visit if nothing for the great views. The beach it self does not offer any additional accessories, so all you have is the sun and the sea. If you like your shade it's a bit tricky to find it here. The sea is much nicer in the early mornings, so try to get here at that time.

Small sandy beach with a long shoal, ideal for families with small children and for "picigin". Clean sea. On the beach there are several coffee shops

Simple, beach but enjoyable pretty sand which not all have in split gently sloping so good for kids but enough for better swimmers too. Good to have fresh water showers as well
