We stopped off for lunch as part of a day’s boat trip. The restaurant is in an idyllic location and felt relaxed even when the bay was busy.
While we only wanted a small lunch, they only offered set meals, 300 kuna for meat, 400 for fish.
Undoubtedly the most expensive place we’d eaten on our trip, but we were celebrating a birthday so decided to splash out.
The shared starter was prosciutto type meat and cheese, typical of many local restaurants and very tasty!
The main, pork and potatoes cooked in the traditional pot. While this was tasty enough, it was absolutely swimming in oil and there was a very small serving considering the price. A salad or some bread may have been a nice touch!
Pudding consisted of a small plate of shortbread type biscuits and some sort of plain pastry.
Our waiter appeared to have skipped charm school, appearing pained whenever he was forced to say anything.
We had a wonderful holiday but this was an experience I’d rather forget. I came away feeling that we’d been completely fleeced. My advice, unless money is no object, take a picnic!

Expensive, with no written menu and an opaque pricing structure that seems to depend on the mood of the elderly, and frankly not very polite, waitress. Idyllic location and good food though.

The water was crystal clear but there were 20+ boats and very busy! I would avoid this place in peak summer, we also went around 2pm which was busiest. Try early or late in day if you'd like to go. It was also yacht week which is crazy here. The restaurant on island is expensive and staff were not very friendly. Sorry to be negative, not the best experience.

We prepaid our buoy on an app, but when we arrived they were all taken. We called the restaurant and they told us that if we want one we have to dive for the rope that was 9m below surface. After an hour a guy came to tell us that we didn’t pay yet, that we have to read the terms and the deal is that we have to go to his restaurant and than the app wont charge us 500kn. The rude attitude was free of charge. When we came to the shore that’s suppose to be a beautiful beach there were old car batteries and other trash to welcome us. The restaurant was a continuation of the experience so far. We paid 900kn for 7 starters, very questionable wine and 4 small beers for 5€ each. We left shocked.

We had the displeasure of dining at this restaurant last summer. Here we are reminiscing about our fantastic trip to Croatia, but are still laughing/crying about just how bad a meal we had at this place. Expensive: yes. Unfriendly service: yes. Food: questionable. Donkey tied up next door braying: of course. Total rip-off: yup. Just so not go. If you’re moored overnight in the bay eat on your boat of insist your hostess makes dinner that night and tip her large accordingly. It will be a fraction of the price you will pay at this restaurant. To put it in perspective: the meal we had at a Michelin star restaurant in Venice the week before was half the price of this crappy beach shack restaurant.

Really expensive and bad attitude of everyone who work there. We pay for drink; 5 gemist and 3 juice 480 kuna. They also lied that they don't have drinks for kids when they give the same drink to the people on the other table. Total ignorance.

Such a disappointment!
Our tour drivers plonked us onto the island for hours. The beach is dirty and full of sea urchins, yachts, and boats of all sizes. Snorkeling might be ok, but the water is very shallow. A single restaurant on Budikovac island is so hilariously overpriced, you will be laughing for months! (Do check their reviews! It’s mesmerising!)
I will admit, the lagoon does look stunning in the areal photos online!

We ate at the little restaurant on Budikovac Island, it was one I will remember for a long time. We were the only guests as it was a quiet night, they opened the restaurant especially for us. We had 2 lobster pastas, a mixed salad and beans between 4 of us. There was also lots of bread on the table. We had a bottle of red that was made on the island.The pasta was one of the nicest meals we had in Croatia. Yes the prices are expensive but if you check everything before you order and take the time to talk to the owner it makes sense. We found the donkeys, no menu and the rambling shack absolutely charming.

The restaurant is very expensive and the staff said that they had high standards so they wouldn’t answer questions about prices. They didn’t have a menu and weren’t to eager to tell us what they had. So we left pretty much immediately. They guy we talked to didn’t seem to nice and acted very irritated and unhelpful. We did not have a good experience based on the short time we actually stayed there. Would not recommend.

Terrible. Worst restaurant ever been on. Do not go here! Staff is discusting. When asked for menu the waiter said: We are not a liberary. Totaly terrible. I hate this place. They do not want guests. Never ever go here!! Keep out!!! When asked for bill they came with a post it note with handwritten number on. It is so bad. Do not go!!
