About
Stella Croatica is an experience center which provides a true insight into the natural, cultural and gastronomic heritage of Dalmatia. As one of the best national brands, the entire complex is dedicated to experiencing Dalmatia with all senses. When one starts the experience with the smell of freshly produced traditional sweets, it is a great example what to expect, especially since one can taste them at the end of the guided tour! The crown of our experience is the visit to the Olive museum, especially if one pairs it with the additional educative program on how to recognize real extra virgin olive oil. Since gastronomy is a great way to learn about the local culture, for our visitors we prepare only the most traditional dishes using local ingredients. A leisure walk though the botanical collection of typical Dalmatian plants is just what one needs after a nice lunch. Use the QR codes to find out more information about those plants and take memorable photos!

It’s a great place to visit. The tour it’s not too long which was great for me. The store it’s really nice to try some regional products (likes oil olives, strawberry honey, sweets and etc). But the restaurant and food... super delicious! Prices are really good. For the desk with cheese, jam, breads, nuts, fruits, olive oil, soup, dinner, dessert, wine and water we paid similar price like you pay in the city just for a dinner and small glass of wine. 100% recommend! And the service super nice and great! Thank you guys.

Dear arlaalex, Thank you for visiting Stella Croatica and writing a review, which will help other travellers. It is with pride that we read your kind words about the food and the service in our restaurant, in which we try hard to present traditional cuisine of the area. Feel free to stop by again next time you are in Croatia! Kind regards, Stella Team

We visited Stella Croatica after spotting a free ticket was included in our admission to Klis fortress. It far exceeded our expectations! On arrival we were shown through the packing area of the complex where the local ladies package up the products that are sold in the shop. As time was getting on, we chose to bypass the museum tour and went straight to eat at the lovely traditional style restaurant, with a choice of four set menus. We tried all of them between our 5 adult family members and enjoyed everything on offer. Priced between €21 - €29, they were great value. The gardens leading from the restaurant to the shop/museum were beautiful. We just had time to try some samples in the shop including olive oils, nuts, fig cake and tapenade (on the lunch menu - wish I’d bought more than one jar home!). Unfortunately we missed the museum as it was closing time.
We weren’t expecting to visit and were all so glad we did! I’d recommend it to anyone.

Dear 99Jue, It is so nice to hear we were able to surprise you in a positive way. You obviously used the opportunity to explore almost everything we have to offer and it is obvious you do not know which one to highlight the most, which is amazing! :) The only one you haven't had the time to visit is sadly our Olive museum, a finalist for European Museum of the year Award 2023. Inside one can learn a lot about the history of olive oil production and health benefits of extra virgin olive oil. Therefore, you definitely need to stop by for yet another visit! Best regards, Stella Team

We took the bus to get there from Split. It is well signposted and only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. Absolutely fantastic place. Greeted very warmly by Kristof who took us on a tour which was very interesting and informative. Lovely botanical gardens, interesting museum and a huge shop full of well priced gifts to take home. The restaurant is in a delightful courtyard. The olive oil cake is a must and absolutely delicious.

Dear LokiLaaLaa, Thank you for visiting us! Since our goal is to present Dalmatia's tradition to our visitors, we are so happy that you left with such nice impressions about our Olive museum, botanical gardens and traditional tavern. The olive oil cake with rosemary and lavender is indeed something special, since the recipe has been in the family for decades. Best regards,

What a wonderful experience. We had a cooking glass and enjoyed a meal of Croatian foods in the courtyard, along with local wines. The olive museum is very educational. The tastings were educational as well. I would definitely recommend visiting Stella Croatica.

Driving out of Split, we stopped at the Fortress of Klis before heading further north. We paid 30 kunas for the ticket each and we were explained that included in the price was the entry to Stella Croatica. We decided to visit it even if not knowing what it really was.

We arrived and were very nicely welcomed to wait for the next guided tour. Maria took really good care of us and showed us the grounds explaining what they are producing and selling.

After the visit, we were brought to the store where you can taste most of their amazing products which make great gifts for family and friends. All are homemade and natural and taste amazing. We got out of the shop with three full bags of purchased items.

I would recommend this place to all lovers of homemade and biological local products and would not recommend this place to families with teenagers and young kids as they would get easily bored.

Thanks to Stella Croatica’s staff for making our visit very informative and delicious.

We were taken to this rather out of the way vendor of local home made and locally produced products on out tour. I am sure the guides or their bosses get a small thank you in one way or another. It is a pleasant stop where one can taste locally produced food products, drinks sweets, jams, preserves, olive paste etc. It is clean and well presented, you can try before you buy all on display, so we did. We gave our young daughter a free hand saying she can get one thing for herself, after all it was her holiday as well, you would never believe she it, she chose the Olive paste she said she loved it, (like us she tried all bar the alcoholic drinks). On getting to our room in the hotel she gave me strict instructions to keep the olive paste in the safe of our room and no one was to eat it without her permission. The guide was astounded that she has never seen a child so young given a free hand to choose what she wanted and she chose olive paste over the beautiful sweets on offer, including almonds in sugar and candied orange peel. Well worth a stop we spent over 200 kuna, the products are not cheap but of high quality..

The ticket to the Klis Fortress (60 kn) apparently includes the admissions fee to Stella. We had a couple of hours to kill before going to the airport, so we decided to go. The village was very clean, and there was water and cookies at the welcome center when we waited for the next tour. Excellent hospitality by the host there, Dragica, and she gave us the first leg of the tour on the production of fig cake. The other legs of the tour (in total about 30 min or less) would introduce you to different soaps, essential oils, and took you through their gardens, and you would end up at their shop with the products you were introduced to on the tour.

The restaurant in the ethno-village was wonderful and a perfect place to have lunch before going to the airport. Servers were very friendly. We had the Pašticada there, and it was one of the most delicious things we had in Croatia!

Dear quasiexperiment, Thank you for deciding to visit our estate and have lunch here with your ticket from Klis fortress, which is really a great added value. Since we put a lot of effort into presenting this interesting story to guests who decide to visit us, it is rewarding to hear praises regarding our devoted staff, with special emphasis you put on Dragica. Our culinary team will be most pleased to hear you especially enjoyed Pašticada with gnocchi in our etno village, where we only serve traditional dishes using local ingredients. Best regards, Stella Team

We started our day at Fort Kliss. The entrance fee there was 40 Kuna a person included tickets to Stella Croatia Etno Park. After having laid out 80 Kuna already we decided to stop and see what it was. It’s not a park it’s a business. They make and sell olive oil, honey, jams and beauty supplies. The grounds were very lovely.

We have a nice tour of the shop with one of the employees and dropped 280 Kuna on 4 items. We were told there was a nice cafe and etno village on the grounds. We walked over. It was very lovely but just a few rooms behind the production building. The staff here offered us lunch. No menu just a verbal rundown. There were two things to chose from. Beef stew w gnocchi and pasta. We tried both. No beverages other than water. We found out later there was a menu it just hadn’t been offered. Probably because we would have run when we saw the prices.

We were taking turns driving and decided to forgo the wine. While the food was bland but tasty when the time came to pay the bill our server informed us it was 270 Kuna. We had to scrounge for cash because she didn’t know how to run the credit card machine. It was lunch. A 270 Kuna lunch is absurd. While tasty it didn’t merit the price tag. I was very disappointed and felt I had been had.

My recommendation. If you paid to get into Kliss drive over and see the store. Wander the grounds. But avoid the cafe.

Dear Guest, Thank you for writing a review on TripAdvisor. We are glad you took the possibility of visiting Stella Croatica with your Klis fortress ticket and enjoyed our park and concept store with local delicacies and natural cosmetics. We feel sorry to not hava been able to show the right level of hospitality in our tavern and would like to apologize on behalf of our former employee there, who had a first day on the job that very day. Our meals are prepared from the products of our garden and local pastures, therefore the prices need to reflect that offer. I hope you will decide to visit our place once again, in order to experience a complete service in a proper way. Best regards, Marin Jerković

Stella Croatica produces some of the best fig cake and candied citrus rind we tried during our 10 days traveling up and down the Dalmatian Coast. We loved touring the factory, which is set up (with big windows) specifically for viewing.

The charming and picturesque historic village (alongside the factory) is both charming and informative. If you are lucky enough to sample some of the traditional foods (cheese, meats, etc.) offered on a few of the village tours, you won't regret it.
