Going into the tour, we didn’t know what to expect. However, Andrea was an amazing and gracious host who provided us with lots of Game of Thrones lore and trivia as well as history of the city of Split, Diocletian’s Palace and Klis Fortress.
Our favourite part of the tour was being taken to the water mill for a fabulous lunch whilst being able to look upon the Greyworm-Missandei river scene. Though we didn’t get to try the Peka, the wine and delicious food more than made up for it.
A must-do for any Game of Thrones fans who want to learn more about the filming and about the beautiful history of Split!

Fantastic tour! I had a grand time with the tour group I got assigned to. I was lucky enough to book a tour with a very small group at that time and it was one of the best parts of my entire trip. Ivana was my tour guide and she was very professional, lovely and knowledgeable. She knew lots of facts about the places, people and of course the culture. It wasn't just a tour about GOT but landmarks in Split as well.
I felt the tour was very personalized and the meal at the end was the best! We were tired and hot (it seemed to be the hottest day in Croatia) and the drinks and food that we had was excellent.
I wanted an afternoon tour originally but I got re-assigned to a morning tour. I was notified early and communication with them is excellent.
All in all an amazing experience!

This was an amazing tour Andrea was so friendly and welcoming and made our tour of sibenik so much fun. Her positive upbeat attitude was great. She has so much knowledge not only just about the history and the area and game of thrones but she gave us a real local experience. We felt like we got to know the “real” Croatia. I would highly recommend anyone take a tour with her.

One of the best tours we have ever been on. Andrea’s passion for Croatian history as well as Game of Thrones shines through the entire tour. We learned so much about the region and filming locations. It makes us want to watch the show again! The palace and fortress of Klis were amazing to see.
To top it off we visited a local watermill and had an amazing peka dinner. Andrea managed everything from transport to entry into the various locations. If you want a fun, stress free, and informative day book with Andrea.

A fun and informative tour. Our tour guide Ivan from Croatia Ministry of Tourism was so knowledgeable and fun to be with. He took us thru the Diocletian Palace & cellars and walked up and visited Klis fortress where real history was made and where various chapters of Game of Thrones was filmed. He showed us exact sites along with pictures where certain scenes were enacted. We saw "the" dragon used to film at Klis. After the tour we went and shopped for GOT souvenirs at a shop just for that! And got to sit and take pics on a replicate throne!

This was a private tour, so we were met by Andrea at our hotel and the tour began in Diocletian's palace. Andrea navigated us through the narrow streets and we stopped at locations that were used as filming locations. Andrea would tell us the season, the context of the event, details about the actual scene and of course show us one or more pictures of the actual scene. This would be the process for the entire tour with the inclusion of showing video of the scene at some locations. Andrea also communicated details about how the different parts of the palace were used by Diocletian. Her knowledge of both GoT and Split history was exceptional.
The tour includes the underground of the palace where we got some interesting history facts about the underground how it had been used in the past, and when and how long it took to clean/clear out some of the areas.
We hoped in her car and proceeded to Klis Fortress. The process was the same here as it relates to GoT and Split history. The view from the fortress is amazing and there is a fantastic museum that contains various armaments used by those residing at the fortress over the centuries. Several of the items can be held if you desire.
We left the fortress and proceeded to Zrnovnica's Quarry and Mill. To my knowledge this tour is the only one that is contracted to take you to this location. This is a working mill where grains are ground, a restaurant and the location of the season 4 public river bathing scene between Grey Worm and Missandei.
The location within itself is breathtaking, the scene peaceful as it is quiet, and you are soothed by sounds of the water running down the river/creek. We had time here to wander along the creek as our traditional Croatian Peka meal was being plated for us to eat. The meal itself was fantastic. It was veal mixed with vegetables. The meal included wine, water, or soft drinks. We picked wine. There was plenty food and I found myself taking the bread and swirling it in the juices of the meal. That is how good it was. I wondered if I was embarrassing myself, I was assured by Andrea that it was ok and that the chef enjoys when people are excited by the meal.
Andrea at our request dropped us off at a location close to our hotel so that we could walk around in that area.
All in all, an amazing tour with an amazing tour guide. Andrea was knowledgeable, professional, engaging, personable, and friendly. As for her by name!

We really enjoyed our game of thrones tour in April. The tour was great we went around the city and Andrea described parts of game of thrones as we passed the places they were filmed. She also had screen shots and clips to remind us what happened.
It was an excellent mixture of GOT and the history of split which we really enjoyed. Andrea knew a lot about so many things in the city having grown up there. She could answer all our questions and was really friendly.
There were just two of us on the tour probably because we were not visiting in holiday time. The organisation was excellent and Andrea let us know what we would be doing and when at the start and throughout.
The fortress was a really nice addition to the tour as it shows you another really interesting part of the city's history and of course another GOT filming area.
We really enjoyed our meal in the evening as well despite the bad weather meaning we couldn't sit outside!
Overall it was one of th highlights of our trip to split as we learnt a lot and loved spending time with our guide Andrea.

We went on the combined Split and Sibenik tour. It’s a long day (12 hours) but we loved it. Going to Sibenik lets you see coastline on the way up and back, as well as on the short ferry ride out to the castle which was one of the film sites. Sibenik itself is a beautiful old city that has lots going for it besides being a GOT site. Take a snack since the traditional peka lunch on the way back wasn’t until mid-afternoon. Back in Split, we went to the GOT sites there, including both Diocletian’s place in the old town and a fortress high in the hills above town. As everyone has said, Andrea is an excellent host, very knowledgeable about the series and Croatian history and also positive and accommodating. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful tour! We got to learn history about the city and the filming of Game of Thrones. Also, it was wonderful to be able to try local food and wine. We were in Split for a very short time (about 6 hrs) and we got to see so much and had fun in the process.
Andrea was amazing and very knowledgeable. We had so much fun with her around the city and felt like a friend was showing us around her hometown. 10/10 recommend!!!
P.S. Take this tour with her! Don’t look any further

The price seems high compared to other tours...just wondering what makes this tour that much more? I see there is dinner included but still seems high...any insight from those with experiences of this tour or others would be appreciated!! Thx

I booked a tour date for mid-July. This was booked in early February. I received the booking number and was advised that payment is due IN CASH upon arrival. I certainly don't want to carry that kind of cash around and have asked twice via email to pay NOW. No response from 2 different email addresses. Can anyone provide email addresses. Thanks.

Thank you for contacting us here. As we figured out, the email being used to contact us was incorrect. We have now connected and resolved the issue for you. We look forward to hosting you in July.

How long is the tour and is it accessible for disabled people?
Written July 3, 2018
The tour is approx. four hours. There are lots of steps and uphill walking. I believe it would depend on the disability. I was recovering from severe bronchitis (several days out from emergency room) and could barely breathe. I took it slowly and stopped when needed. Antonia waited and didn’t make me feel a bother. This was a private tour. I am sure they will accommodate for you.

Hi, going to be in Dubrovnik for the King's Landing tour. Need to get to Split to do this tour. Anyone know the name of the direct ferry to Split?
Written June 29, 2018
We used mydaytrip for the drive from Split to Dubrovnik using coastal Hwy. 8. I highly recommend our driver Haris. The views are breath-taking and he will stop for postcard worthy shots. The cost is reasonable for a comfortable Mercedes Benz van.
