This was a private tour, so we were met by Andrea at our hotel and the tour began in Diocletian's palace. Andrea navigated us through the narrow streets and we stopped at locations that were used as filming locations. Andrea would tell us the season, the context of the event, details about the actual scene and of course show us one or more pictures of the actual scene. This would be the process for the entire tour with the inclusion of showing video of the scene at some locations. Andrea also communicated details about how the different parts of the palace were used by Diocletian. Her knowledge of both GoT and Split history was exceptional.
The tour includes the underground of the palace where we got some interesting history facts about the underground how it had been used in the past, and when and how long it took to clean/clear out some of the areas.
We hoped in her car and proceeded to Klis Fortress. The process was the same here as it relates to GoT and Split history. The view from the fortress is amazing and there is a fantastic museum that contains various armaments used by those residing at the fortress over the centuries. Several of the items can be held if you desire.
We left the fortress and proceeded to Zrnovnica's Quarry and Mill. To my knowledge this tour is the only one that is contracted to take you to this location. This is a working mill where grains are ground, a restaurant and the location of the season 4 public river bathing scene between Grey Worm and Missandei.
The location within itself is breathtaking, the scene peaceful as it is quiet, and you are soothed by sounds of the water running down the river/creek. We had time here to wander along the creek as our traditional Croatian Peka meal was being plated for us to eat. The meal itself was fantastic. It was veal mixed with vegetables. The meal included wine, water, or soft drinks. We picked wine. There was plenty food and I found myself taking the bread and swirling it in the juices of the meal. That is how good it was. I wondered if I was embarrassing myself, I was assured by Andrea that it was ok and that the chef enjoys when people are excited by the meal.
Andrea at our request dropped us off at a location close to our hotel so that we could walk around in that area.
All in all, an amazing tour with an amazing tour guide. Andrea was knowledgeable, professional, engaging, personable, and friendly. As for her by name!

We really enjoyed our game of thrones tour in April. The tour was great we went around the city and Andrea described parts of game of thrones as we passed the places they were filmed. She also had screen shots and clips to remind us what happened.
It was an excellent mixture of GOT and the history of split which we really enjoyed. Andrea knew a lot about so many things in the city having grown up there. She could answer all our questions and was really friendly.
There were just two of us on the tour probably because we were not visiting in holiday time. The organisation was excellent and Andrea let us know what we would be doing and when at the start and throughout.
The fortress was a really nice addition to the tour as it shows you another really interesting part of the city's history and of course another GOT filming area.
We really enjoyed our meal in the evening as well despite the bad weather meaning we couldn't sit outside!
Overall it was one of th highlights of our trip to split as we learnt a lot and loved spending time with our guide Andrea.

We went on the combined Split and Sibenik tour. It’s a long day (12 hours) but we loved it. Going to Sibenik lets you see coastline on the way up and back, as well as on the short ferry ride out to the castle which was one of the film sites. Sibenik itself is a beautiful old city that has lots going for it besides being a GOT site. Take a snack since the traditional peka lunch on the way back wasn’t until mid-afternoon. Back in Split, we went to the GOT sites there, including both Diocletian’s place in the old town and a fortress high in the hills above town. As everyone has said, Andrea is an excellent host, very knowledgeable about the series and Croatian history and also positive and accommodating. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful tour! We got to learn history about the city and the filming of Game of Thrones. Also, it was wonderful to be able to try local food and wine. We were in Split for a very short time (about 6 hrs) and we got to see so much and had fun in the process.
Andrea was amazing and very knowledgeable. We had so much fun with her around the city and felt like a friend was showing us around her hometown. 10/10 recommend!!!
P.S. Take this tour with her! Don’t look any further

Having taken this tour last year, we returned with family, as we wanted them to participate in this fantastic experience.
Easy to organise, Thankyou Sara.
We were delighted that Andrea lead the tour again. She is a joy, informative, knowledge and passionate about both local history and Game of thrones.
Locations within Split, Klis fortress and the mill supported by photos and videos took us back to the scenes.
Then to finish the tour at the mill, with delicious veal Peka, shots and plenty of wine. An outstanding location that you never want to leave.
If you want the best GoT Tour, then take this one, excellent value for money.

Our guide Andrea is exceptional! She knows all the details of the production and if you can't remember the scene, that's okay because she's imitating the characters too!
The place we ate was local and very bucolic. It is also related to the series, but I say nothing more so as not to spoil it. :)
As Andrea born in split, she also answered all of our questions about everyday life, traditions and great places to go out.
It was a fantastic day.
Thanks to Andrea and thanks to Sara for the organization !

We had a great time with Andrea on this tour. It was a great mix of GOT info and historical info about the area. Dinner at the restaurant at the end of the tour is a real highlight in a beautiful setting with amazing food. Highly recommended

I had a wonderful time with Andrea at the Split Tour. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Sara, who organizes the tours, is also great and was able to accommodate me with plenty of last minute scheduling changes due to the rainy November weather. I would highly recommend this Tour by this company!

Fantastic experience! Our tour guide, Andrea, was extremely knowledgeable and so much fun to hang out with! This tour is definitely worth the money and time spent. Highly recommend for all people regardless of your feelings about GoT. We learned a ton about the history of the city and surrounding areas.

Our guide Andrea was just a delight.
Very passionate about her job as a tour guide and GOT, she made the tour really interesting.
We first visited the old town and Diocletian palace, then she took us to the fortress of Klis and finally to the Mill (in GOT the scene where Missandei bathes and GreyWorm sees her was filmed there). There we had the best homemade Peka and a Liqueurs tasting.
Also due to the Covid situation we were the only two people on the tour and most tourist attractions where empty, so it was great to take good pictures as well.
We highly recommend this tour!!!

The price seems high compared to other tours...just wondering what makes this tour that much more? I see there is dinner included but still seems high...any insight from those with experiences of this tour or others would be appreciated!! Thx

Hi there, Thank you for your question! I can give you some background on the price. The tour is 5 hours long, includes walking tours of 3 locations, admission to two locations, transportation between 3 locations as well as a traditional Croatian feast with local wine. Our price is 10 euros less than our competitor.

I booked a tour date for mid-July. This was booked in early February. I received the booking number and was advised that payment is due IN CASH upon arrival. I certainly don't want to carry that kind of cash around and have asked twice via email to pay NOW. No response from 2 different email addresses. Can anyone provide email addresses. Thanks.

How long is the tour and is it accessible for disabled people?
RRHouston
Houston, TX21 contributions
The tour is approx. four hours. There are lots of steps and uphill walking. I believe it would depend on the disability. I was recovering from severe bronchitis (several days out from emergency room) and could barely breathe. I took it slowly and stopped when needed. Antonia waited and didn’t make me feel a bother. This was a private tour. I am sure they will accommodate for you.

Hi, going to be in Dubrovnik for the King's Landing tour. Need to get to Split to do this tour. Anyone know the name of the direct ferry to Split?

We used mydaytrip for the drive from Split to Dubrovnik using coastal Hwy. 8. I highly recommend our driver Haris. The views are breath-taking and he will stop for postcard worthy shots. The cost is reasonable for a comfortable Mercedes Benz van.
