Not so many pieces, but it is very well mounted and easy to follow. The palace setting is attractive. If you have time is nice, but not a must see.

We walked here from our cruise ship dock. It's a nice little museum in and old building on several floors. There's information on Diocletian on the main level, including a model of Diocletian's Palace and some of his coins. The upper levels progress with exhibits...More

More explanation of the palace that houses it is needed, but the collection, although small, is significant for housing some great artwork, stone sculpture, and a very significant handgonne (very early hand gun). Admission is very reasonable, and make sure you get to all the...More

I've noticed that a few reviewers have indicated how strange the lay-out of the house is, but didn't mention why. The reason is because this was not set up to be a museum initially. It was initially a home that was occupied by the Papalic...More

This charming small museum wasn't particularly well-organized, but the Venetian Palazzo that housed it was more interesting than the collection. I loved the layout of the rooms - and the entrance courtyard garden. It seemed to me that the spaces of this museum were arranged...More

The museum is housed in an old house which was of evident interest, but we couldn't seem to learn anything about it. The collection itself was poorly organized - information was all over the place and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to...More

This is a great little museum, which will give anyone a good introduction to the city, but the star turn is the magnificent mensa, Diocletian's dining table - take a look, and then go up behind the Cathedral to look at the space it would...More

A couple of interesting things to read. Oddball art. Really odd interactive things to do that have nothing to do with anything. Unless you are looking to beat the heat or the rain....walking around the old town for free is better.

Not the best city museum I have seen. The building was interesting, the collection odd and not well organised

We stumbled upon this museum after lunch. I didn't think it would be that interesting, but found myself intrigued the whole time. The museum goes from the Diocletian/Roman empire times, to the Austrian-Hungarian times. A lot of it is more about daily life as a...More
