Marjan Park is on a hill overlooking the city of Split, offering impressive views of the city, harbor, surrounding islands, and the nearby mountains of Mosor and Kozjak. I greatly enjoyed hiking on forested park trails away from the crowds of Split. The park has...More

Access to this park is from "Setaliste Ivana Mestrovica" street, at the far west end. You have to drop your car as the site is only accessible by foot / bicycle / skates. The climb is on a paved road with a low but steady...More

Did not think we would do hiking while visiting Croatia. But in winter, almost everything was closed in Split, and we were bored on our second day there. So, why not taking a quick stroll up on the hill? It turned out to be a...More

See all of Split by hiking/riding up the hill, and a bike ride and a dive into the Adriatic Sea. This makes for a great day and then you can finish it off by walking to old town Split or riding a bike back down...More

We had a beautiful sunny day in Split. After touring the old town we headed straight up the hill to Marian Park. Gorgeous views along the way and calm and peaceful parklands at the top. Kids loved making friends with the many cats.

We did attempt to visit Marjan Park, the hilled peninsula considered the lungs of the city, and a popular place for people to hike, jog and bike. Unfortunately our walk was cut short by thunder but we enjoyed it whilst we could.

It's a 4 minute walk from old town. Head towards Vidilica cafe bar if you want the vista with a good hike. Otherwise head towards the main park entrance and you can rent bikes from there.
