The long climb up to the stairs to the top is well worth it, the view is amazing! Lots of little tracks to explore as well as main paths to walk along that will take you to beaches, picnic areas, rocky bays, and pretty churches. Views are incredible. Ideal for walking or cycling. Spent a good few hours strolling around,... More

During my stay in Split I needed an escape from the crowds in main town area so went on a walk through Marjan. I took the back streets, rather than main steps and found myself walking along beautiful little paths, with pine trees, grasses, and ocean views. I saw very few people and felt like I was in an oasis... More

Marian is well worth visiting, a beautifully set out park near to the city. Views over the city and harbours are fantastic

We walked to the hill of Marjan. Before entering the park there is a restaurant with a terrace which offers a stunning view on Split and its port. If you follow the small street after the restaurant you'll come to an awesome small chappel. Further up, there is a small Zoo which we haven't visited. It's very nice to go... More

Large park which offers fun for folks who want to walk, run, jog or ride a bike. While the main road is relatively flat, you can also take steep small paths up and down the mountains, which is a nice experience. Lots of small hidden beaches along the way makes for nice swimming stops. Bike rental at the main gates... More

If you want some shade, or have a swim, or run,.... the marjan forest is a must go. You can even free climb on the south part with more then 50 free climbing paths. But you need to have your own equipement. You can contact one of the free climbing club in split to rent some equipement as well.

Even without cable car it's the most beautiful and attractive part of the city. Very accessible and pleasant walking trails with many cute details. Which ones? You'll see, just come and start walking...

If you want to see beautiful Split from above and you're on a low budget (or also if just the first condition applies to you), you should go to see Marjan. You need to walk up many stairs but the view will be totally worth it. You will have a 360 degree panorama view and therefore you will be able... More

Just outside of the West side of town, most people visit the huge Marjan park just for the quick and easy up to the pleasant view point. Would have been nice, I'm sure, to walk through the park to one of the beaches on that stretch of coastline (which are very pleasant).
