Just returned from a self-guided bike tour of the Dalmatian coast. While we booked through a different company, Meridien Ten was the company that provided all the logistics and itinerary. From the first meeting with Mio at our hotel in Split, to the ending in Dubrovnik, not one single complaint for this stellar company.
The initial briefing was very professional and nothing was omitted. The bikes we upgraded to were brand new Cannondales with Wahoo computers uploaded with all the necessary maps. We brought our own pedals, and extra computer (they provide one per couple) and I brought my seat-highly suggest that if you're picky like me. They provide helmets also, but again we brought our own. I also suggest bringing lights for the bike, front and back for visibility to automobiles.
The weather didn't always cooperate for us, and we rode one day 50+ K in the rain. No rain gear can keep up with that, so I suggest being prepared to be wet (we did), or taking them up on the back up shuttle (extra cost) if you can't.
The booking company we originated this trip through didn't have the option for upgraded hotels, so we "suffered" through a couple of 3 stars. Had we booked directly through Meridien Ten, we would have had the option. Live and learn.
Our bags were shuttled from hotel to hotel and had zero issues there. Don't be in a hurry to get to the next spot as rooms generally aren't ready until mid to late afternoon, but if you arrive early, they do everything they can to make you comfortable while you wait.
The riding is "no joke." Lots of long climbs but nothing too steep. The well maintained roads are mostly quiet country roads, but a few routes felt a little exposed for cyclists without much room for traffic to go around if there is oncoming traffic.
All said, it was the most adventurous trip I've had in a long while and Meridien Ten made us feel very safe and supported on a self-guided tour. We will be booking directly through Meridien Ten next time we find ourselves in Croatia.

A great cycling tour in the Spring of 2022 with seasonal weather and less crowded tourist traffic. MeridienTen was awesome when rebooking with credit after cancellation due to the pandemic two years later. Equipment and instructions were great start of the trip and throughout. Mobile App was very helpful. The accommodations (exclusive level did not disappoint). Transfers of luggage, bikes, or ourselves was seamless without a hiccup. The Croatian people were very welcoming and gracious.

We had a wonderful Split to Dubrovnik self-guided bike tour. We are well into our seventies so used e-bikes. Equipment was excellent as were accommodations and Meridien Ten and it’s partners were always friendly, organized and immediately responsive. We’ve done several self- guided hiking or biking tours over the years and strongly recommend this one. Just wish we could find some of those Croatian wines here in the United States

Toni was super helpful- bikes brought to our hotel within 30 mins and then useful directions. Bikes were well maintained 21 gear and took our mixed ability party us to the top of the Majan Park hill readily enough. Recommended

The Dalmatian Coast Classic Cycling Tour exceeded all of our expectations. I had looked at this tour with another company but went with Meridian Ten instead and we are so very glad we did. They only do one guided tour per month. They mostly do self-guided tours and provide support for other tour operators. We had a very small group, just 4 of us and the ride leader Andro who is the owner of the company. Plus "Evo" who drove the support van. Andro is a native of Croatia and knows everything about the coast & the islands. The daily routes were tailored to our abilities with plenty of climbing and amazing views and the meals and accommodations were exceptional. Mostly the meals. He took us to local restaurants two of which were closed to everyone but us. The food was served immediately with very large family style portions. Truly an "immersive" experience. The wine pairing meal on the last night in Korcula was awesome. The hotel in Split was just ok but the one in Hvar was like a luxury suite. We want go back just to stay there. We stayed at the same hotel as Back Roads in Korcula and had dinner at the same restaurant. They had a much larger group. We much preferred our "intimate" experience. On a scale of 1 to 10, Meridien Ten is a 15!

I cannot even put into words how incredible our trip/experience with Meridien Ten was. They set up and accommodated a personalized 12-day self-guided trip that fit exactly what we wanted to see and do (from Zagreb to Plitvice to the Dalmatian Coast). Their customer service was outstanding and they made the transitions and logistics as easy as possible so we could enjoy our trip to the fullest. We loved how it was organized in a way that we had a tour to follow with suggestions, but we were still able to feel like we had independence and like we could have our own adventure. Assistance and support, if needed, was available. Overall, these features made for a very smooth and fulfilling experience.

We did the Meridien Ten tour from Split down to Dubrovnik via the islands ... We chose the self-guided option, which worked really well (we didn't want to be tied to other people's pace or times).
The rep came and met us in Split, set up the bikes and gave us the hugely comprehensive info folder containing maps, recommendations, ferry tickets etc. We already had the routes downloaded to our Garmins, but they went through this as well.
Everything about the trip was brilliant. The accommodations was all excellent, the food recommendations were great and the places themselves were all spectacular. The routes were hillier than i was expecting (but only because i was a bit arrogant and thought that i was going to be blasting out the long options every day, but in reality, with the heat, it was far nicer to do the standard options and enjoy the occasional beach stop, swim and extra cafe break!).
Scenery was spectacular, the bike was in great condition and I would absolutely recommend a Meridien Ten tour.

This was the best self guided bike tour ever (my fifth of this type). We did the 8 day bike/swim tour of the Croatian islands. It was really well organized. Hotels were top quality and very clean, with good Wi-Fi. We found our way easily with the info provided. Daily rides were far enough but not too far, so we had plenty of time to swim at gorgeous beaches. Many thanks to Meridian Ten for such an awesome and unforgettable experience!

My husband and I booked a semi supported bike trip from Split through the Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik with Meridien Ten. They gave us bikes, made hotel reservations, ferry tickets and map routes for each day and moved our luggage to our next stop. It was the perfect trip for us as we could ride a long route or a short route and explore the delicious restaurants, beaches and sites of each island. The people were professional, very helpful and helped us see this magical place.

We had a great cycling trip organised by Meridien 10. The option we took was the island hopping from Dubrovnik to Split. Everything went according to plan - good bikes, comfortable and friendly accommodation, luggage all transported efficiently. We have done trips in other parts of the world with other cycling companies, and Meridien 10 has been the easiest and best to work with. Thoroughly recommend them.

Damatian Coast waking tour is rated as easy to moderate.
This tour includes 7 days of activity with average hiking/walking distance of 7-16 km per day.
The terrain on this tour changes daily - you will experience single-tracks, wide gravel roads, rocky coastal paths, cobblestone streets (in the historical towns) and paved roads (not more than 4 kilometers in total).

I'm considering doing a self guided tour solo and was wondering in terms of difficulty level where would you put the ride you and your wife did? I am middle aged, can do 20-45 miles in a hilly landscape, I live in MT., but gigantic climbs are hard for me if they are continuous (hour after hour,day after day....). Any suggestions? Also, are these trips adjustable? Safety for a woman alone? Let me know your thought.
