We booked a Private Transfer from Zagreb to Split via Plitivice National Park & a stop at Zadar.

Andro was our driver & guide and he was outstanding ! He was extremely cordial, patient and very knowledgeable. He was very friendly & went out of the way to make our day comfortable and memorable. He even got us to try local Burek’s and also came along with us to a supermarket to recommend us best of the local foods.

Highly recommend booking your tours with them, especially with Andro !

We went with Portal for a private tour from Dubrovnik to Split via Bosnia. Andro was our driver. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is very nice, courteous and suck a gentleman. He really catered the trip/ transfer to our needs. He took on our way to have a real local experience and to try the fresh oysters on the highway from a local couples. This was such a nice experience then we went to the Turkish village and saw one of the owners of old restaurant there and had local pomegranate and cherry juices.

Then we went to Mostar where were had a private tour with another guide. He had enough time on our own to shop and wandered around. We had the best cevapi there and he ate with us. He is not just a tour guide you feel you Just made a friend. We also went to have traditional Turkish coffee and watched the swimmers jump from the Mostar Bridge. He always offer to carry our stuffs and has treated us to some pastries and breakfast. Which is very nice and gentleman from him.

Then he made us stop quickly to see the Medjugorje. We had an outstanding day with him and we will definitely consider booking with him in the future!

My girlfriend and I hired for the all day private tour. Out guide Andrej picked us up at the hotel and we had a brief conversation about what we hoped to accomplish that day. He seemed to know exactly how long to stop, and where, and we ended up seeing much more than we anticipated. Andrej was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and his vehicle was spotless. We felt safe and well cared for the entire time. Further, before departing Andrej gave us a ton of tips for the rest of the trip. We had so much fun that we ended up going to a volleyball championship with him and his Francisco the following evening. I'd ask for him by name if you book this trip!

From reading positive reviews we decided to book both of these tours before we went to Croatia. The staff that we were in touch with by email were very helpful and booking was easy.
The Plitvice lakes tour was a long day but it didn't feel like it! We had a good journey including stops at service stations for food. The scenery there is amazing and we felt like we were able to get the most out of it and see everything. Our tour guide was lovely and gave us plenty of time to see everything in the park, whilst managing to keep the group together without feeling like we were being rushed. We could stop and take photos in our own time and he would make sure no-one got left behind. On the Krka waterfalls trip we didn't feel like we had quite as much time to explore as there was a lot of different places to travel to and see, but still had a fantastic trip with some gorgeous surroundings.
All our tour guides and drivers were friendly, welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic and we had two wonderful trips which we have recommended to everyone we've met who will be going to Split!

We found our guide, Andrej Sartori of Portal Day Tours a few months before our trip on TripAdvisor.

Even before we booked him for his services, he was in regular contact with us and helped us a lot with our itinerary.

Although he is based in Split, he offered to pick us up from Dubrovnik as we were there and had initially planned to take a bus to Split to meet him there.

He is always early and is an excellent driver. He has a great command of knowledge of the history, geography and demographics of the countries that we visited and is a good company and conversationalist. He also has a good sense of humor and there was never a dull moment with him.

Andrej never rushed us if we were late and if we wanted to spend a little more time at certain places. He also made sure that we did not have to walk too far at the end of an excursion by picking us up at the nearest gate. He always checked if we were hungry and made an effort to look for the best and most affordable places for us to eat as we had special dietary preferences.

My friend and I have travelled to 15 countries together and he is by far the best tour guide that we have ever had. He is reliable and most importantly, as two women traveling alone, we felt very safe when we were with him. We are extremely happy to have engaged his services.

If you are traveling to Europe, your best bet for a tour guide is Andrej Sartori! Highly recommended!

Due to our guide's confusing directions and her decision to leave us alone on the track for some reason, half the group got lost in the park and went on the wrong route. Thanks to this we missed the train ride and didn't see part of the lakes. Also, we had to walk over 10km with elderly people in the group. The guide was also unable to get us back to the right place, partly because she just left us and continued the tour with half of the group that remained instead of coming to look for us. In the end, she blamed us for not following her "clear" instructions.

Our day on the boat with portal tours was our absolute FAVORITE day in Split! We booked a private tour to the Blue Lagoon for our group of four the night before we wanted to go, they responded immediately and made it super easy to book and organize. We had a wonderful time spending the day on the boat with our skipper, Nickoli, and exploring the amazing waters of Split. We were given the opportunity to choose where we wanted to go, and how much time we wanted to spend there. It was just an incredible day - even better than we had hoped. Thank you, portal tours!!!

Pros :
-- Beautiful and amazing experience
-- The journey was super and adventurous
-- Blue cave was awesome and excellently well managed by the team so that we don't waste any time in the cue.
-- Though the sea was pretty rough while coming back but we had a tremendous captain and he was pretty calm

Cons:
-- Nothing absolutely nothing

I will highly recommend this trip. Both for me and my wife it was that kind of a journey which we will cherish for our lifetime.

We visited Split with my girlfriend in August, and we had an amazing time with the excellent bunch of people from Portal. We took part in the Blue Cave tour, and the Plitvice Lakes tour and we couldn't be happier about the trips. Both tours were definitely the highlights of our trip - and not only because of the stunning views.

Portal Travel Agency is filled with enthusiastic, hardworking, professional and nice young people who treat their customers with great care. From basic customer service to Hotel pickups, everything is dealt with pure class.

We booked the Blue Cave Tour prior to our trip to Croatia. The booking system was efficient and easy to use, and we got all the confirmations very quickly which is always a strong positive. The trip itself began with the pickup that is included to the price, and that was always exactly on time for us. Once we reached the pier, we met our skippers Marko and Ante. Since the weather was very unpredictable that day, they gathered everybody together and told us that it might be possible that we won't be able to reach the Blue Cave due to the bad weather conditions. They were very polite, apologetic and professional about it and they informed us about the refunds and compensations if the trip to the Blue Cave would be impossible. However, everyone in the group boarded the boat - which was, undoubtedly the best looking in the Pier - and I'm 100% sure no one regretted that decision.

The Skippers were great lads. They were very talkative, relaxed and caring. They always made sure that everybody were enjoying themselves to the fullest, and you could tell they were pulling all the strings trying to make the trip to the Blue Cave itself possible - which they in the end managed to do by cleverly altering our schedule. We actually swam in to the cave, since it was impossible to get in by boats due to the waves, and that's infinitely better than getting in by boat - the cave is just extra ordinary. A job well done by them indeed. Due to my background in boating, we actually had quite a few chats about boats. And I can tell you, these guys are so nice and always open for a conversation. The only negative we experienced was the lunch at a small fisherman's village, since the food was pretty average. However, it was included to the price, so it's basically a free extra lunch. All credit, and all the best to Marko and Ante!

After that we went to see The Krka national park by ourselves since we were on a budget, and we had planned to go to Plitvice by ourselves aswell. But the never-ending queues and unsure public transport made it clear for us that we'll go to Plitvice with Portal again. The trick is, that you don't actually save that much money(about 20-30€) to make it worth all the hassle to get to the parks by public transport, and that tells you Portal is a great value for money.

After Krka we tried to book the Plitvice tour from Portal's office at the city center, but unfortunately for us, it was fully booked. However, thanks to the amazing staff at the office, they managed to squeeze us in a group. We experienced great customer service at the office and during our email exchange, and the thanks for that go to Ana and Anita.

The trip to Plitvice was another success story. We were guided by a gentleman called Petar and our driver was a gentleman called Ivan. During the 4 hour bus ride, we had the pleasure of listening to Petars stories about Croatia, which ranged from football to Croatia's current economical status. He's very relaxed and clever with his jokes as well - a very pleasant character! He told us great bits from the nations history, and every time he reached for the microphone, you could tell that everybody was all ears and intrigued by his stories. You could tell that he's well educated and well dedicated to his job, and he handled group with excellence. He made sure that everybody was alright and enjoying themselves, and that help is there, should it be needed at any times. The lakes are just something else, and it's a must visit should you ever visit Croatia - and if you do visit, we recommend that you use Portal!

All the crew fore mentioned deserve a great credit for what they do, and we really hope all the best for all of you. Thank you for the amazing experiences you offered us during our trips! And to mention, we've never been fans of tours of any kind, but what these guys do, is just something else.

We had a fantastic tour with Tiho (our guide). Tiho knew a lot about Croatia & Bosnia and Herzegovina. He had fantastic energy and kept us laughing the whole trip - there and back. Mostar is gorgeous. A must-see if you are on this side of the world. We first went to Imotski and saw the Red & Blue Lakes, then stopped for a quick coffee. Then we headed to Mostar in BiH. It was breathtaking. We had a local tour guide there (Dado), who explained the history of the Old Town and the Old Bridge. His family stayed in Mostar during the war - incredible. We ate Cavapcici (a delicious sausage & bread dish - recommended by Tiho). We then headed to a Turkish village and then to Kravice Waterfalls. The whole trip was beautiful. The ride was informative and fun. There may not be many reviews of this tour (on here, or even in Split, Croatia) but it is well worth taking. Hopefully you will have as great of a guide as we did. Thanks, Tiho for all the laughs - you were fantastic!!!! Five stars!!!
