Details: Price: 30 kuna ($5.00 American) Hours: 9:00-2:00 then 4:00-8:00 This museum is pretty darn interesting. What a rich history this area has. Upon entering the building you go to the left to pay. Then you are free to roam around. There is one large...More

Overall this museum has an interesting and remarkable collection of historic artefacts. The Roman statues and sarcophaguses were the most impressive, some things could have done with more information/translation however. Very pleasant outside area with benches and relatively inexpensive too.

We walked here from the Old city (it wasn't that far) and had no problem finding it and enjoying ourselves. There were very few people here when we visited so it made it a nice respite from the tour groups in town. If you're in...More

The collection of the museum is really good and the pieces are world class. Unfortunately, it does not have any information on how to move through the rooms and the information is written in a very small size letter. There was no one to guide...More

This is a pleasant short walk from the centre of Split in a leafy road. It is unassuming but you know it is special when you enter the gate into the peaceful garden - surrounded by many artifacts and treasures under walkways. The entrance fee...More

Interesting museum with a good display in the lapidarium. Ticket is 4 Euro, open in the morning and afternoon, not all day.

We walked in the rain from our hotel at the Diocletian Palace to this museum. It was not open because the man who was supposed to turn on the lights had not shown up. We asked the administrative staff if we could wait. Fifteen minutes...More

well presented and fairly compact/limited, the collection still informs and is well worth the detour. The grounds of the house have some very interesting items tucked away.

This place was super interesting for a history nerd! So much items and info packed in a compact space. Inside there are smaller items like coins, cups, toys, needles, jewellery and weapons, all dug from ancient Greek villages around Croatian coast. Every item is numbered...More
