I visited Croatia after my mom died. She had always wanted to go, but the timing was never right for either of us to go together. So I went.
What an extraordinary vacation I had. One of the highlights was my tour guide Ivica. Ivica and his family and his family’s family have lived in Split since...well it seems like before the age of time. He has stories. So incredibly knowledgeable and funny, and personable. I highly recommend him as a tour guide!

Ivica was a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable but also easy to relate to and so interesting. After lots of history and the major sights, ended the tour with delicious food & wine. He was also great with recommendations of other things to do. He knows Split as a true local.

Ivica showed us around Split for the afternoon. He was very informative & friendly. We definitely wouldn’t have seen as much as we did without him!

Whether you’re into history, mythology or contemporary facts, Ivica is the guide for you! Wife and I were fortunate enough to be guided by Ivica through Split, Marjan Park, ancient Salona and Trogir, on four different occasions, of course, as doing it all at once wouldn’t fit in a single day. Whatever building we pointed out Ivica brought to life with a story or an anecdote; the tales of past and present he told still resonate with us.
His English is impeccable, and being born and bread Splitian, his knowledge of the city and the area, its customs and people is rich and detailed. If you want to dig deeper than just walking through Diocletian Palace, book Ivica for a true Split experience. And don’t forget to ask him about good places to eat, drink, swim and hike.

If you're looking for an immersive experience in the culture and history of Split, look no further than Ivica Profaca. Ivica is a fantastic guide who mixes his exceptional knowledge of Split's history and culture with his great wit and charming character. We listened to many great stories and anecdotes about Diocletian and his Roman palace (around which Split is built). We also learnt about the Medieval influence in the City. Ivica has an intimate knowledge of wonderful 'hole in the wall' restaurants and cafes. If you're a Games of Thrones fan Ivica will point out all the filming locations in and around the city. He is a great guy who will show you a great time!

One of the most interesting and comprehensive tours was conducted by Ivica in Split. This man has a profound knowledge and love for his country and his magical city of Split. Our small group was hanging on to every word and gesture. I think tourists know when they have a guide who as just memorized some historical facts and delivers the tour with little gusto. This is not true of Ivica. His passion for history is immediately visible and we felt like a little family group traveling through history with Ivica. I live in Split but always insist that my visiting family and friends take at least one tour with Ivica. He is just that good! Split should give him a tourism medal because he was of the great things about this city!

Ivica is an excellent guide. He demonstrates an unparalleled depth of knowledge regarding the history and culture of Split and Dalmatia. I have joined multiple walking tours and have also have referred friends to his tours on many occasions. His tours remind me of some of my favorite history professors. Ivicia was able to adapt his tours to guests needs and interests. I unreservedly recommend Ivica for anyone who really wants to learn all about this lovely city by the sea.

An excellent tour by a likeable individual who invests in his guests to give the complete experience. Ivića went out of his way to keep the tour informative but still have the right blend between history learnings and relevance to the group. This tour is a must for anyone visiting the City 😃

We had the pleasure of Ivicia showing us around Split on our short, two-day trip to the amazing city! Being a local, Ivicia knows all the best places to go & has an amazing knowledge of the history which makes Split so great! His tour was fun & he really engaged with us making it a fun experience, not a generic boring tour. Highly recommended him!

We took two tours with Ivica and both were excellent experiences. His English is perfect, and he's a fun and informative guide. He knows the biggest and smallest secrets of Split and is happy to tell all. This is someone with a great love for their home and he shows it with all the stories he tells, the freshness of a tour which he must have given many times, and all the little things he points out that a tourist might not notice or find in a travel book. Both very enjoyable days packed with questions which were answered, and a special feeling for this beautiful Dalmatian city.

Highly recommended.
