Very limited experience. It is already very complicated to find bus timetables, knowing that the timetables at the stops are not the correct ones. The site is not at all instinctive, we used the "plan" application on iPhone for 1 week because it was easier. Note that it is also difficult to understand which way to take the bus because the routes cannot be found. And anyway, the buses don't respect the timetables. They are either very late or often early, and obviously do not wait for the time to leave. The drivers are (for the most part) not pleasant, and the price of the ticket varies depending on the driver or the purchase at the terminal (2€/trip, much more expensive than elsewhere). In the middle of summer, the air conditioning is too strong in the bus, it is almost cold, and the waste every time the door is opened is terrible.

Firstly, I don't want to have to install an app and fign up for an account just to buy bus tickets for one day. Still, it gives you a big discount, so hey ho. We each installed the app and bought three bus tickets for our trip. So far so good, except that the route planner didn't work at all for us, we had to use Google.
First trip, used the QR codes on the bus but scanning them is really tricky. Luckily the driver helped.
Second trip we messed up and missed the bus, had to get a taxi instead. Our fault entirely.
Third trip my app refused to move past the home page and just froze. I restarted a couple of times but no joy, so my paid for ticket was completely wasted. My husband tried to pay for another ticket on his app and it just kept loading and not completing, so I had to pay 4euros in cash instead of the 1.50 it would be in the app.
It's just bus tickets, it shouldn't be this complicated.

You can buy tickets for 1€ for 60 mins at the buss stop, however if you try buy from a buss driver they will charge you 4.00€ for the same ticket, it makes no sense. Not sure if its because we are tourists and they just want to make more money as they know we have no other option. Theres only ticket machines at certain buss stops so you end up having to pay three times more for the ticket.

This review is specific for the Promet app for the Split city bus system. I searched the internet for some of my questions and couldn't find the answers, so I'm providing them here. This is one of the best city bus app systems I've used. It is easy to purchase tickets through a credit card on the app. You can purchase multiple tickets for multiple riders and scan them individually when you board the bus, something that many other systems don't allow. The app has a bus tracker that shows you exactly where each bus is on each route. You can also buy discounted children's tickets on the app, which you cannot do at the ticket machines. There is no ticket machine at the Split airport or most bus stops, so download this app rather than buying from the driver who will charge 3 Euros for a 1 Euro ticket.

A truly awful bus service. I wouldn’t take the bus if you could get a train, but you can’t. As a result these buses are the main way - without a car - to travel along the hugely touristy Croatian coast. Which is stunning given how atrocious the service is. Tickets are hard to buy, bus drivers charge far more than the ticket is supposed to cost, there’s no information about where you are, they are very late and they staff are obnoxious. The ‘inter city’ service in my experience is worse than the cheaper local service so save some cash and take the slower route.

Promet public bus 37 from Split Airport (just a couple of minutes walk from the airport building to the main road) is the most economical way to travel to Split if you don't have much to carry. Download the Promet app and pay 1.50 Euro per person to travel to end stop at Autobusni Terminal Sukoisan, located north of downtown Old Split . Pre-load in the app with the amount you want to purchase. Bus came according to schedule and took about 40 minutes into Split. Turn on mobile data and scan the code to activate ticket(s) on the bus. Good travel experience.

We had a 9 day holiday in duce, near split and took the buses nearly every day.
The app is great and partnered with the website live tracking of the bus location was really useful.
I saw some reviews of buses not accepting the app and there are some mini bus/ sprinter buses called Dalmatia ac which have the same number and stop at the same stops, but AREN'T the promet buses.
Scanning tickets is fiddly, I found placing the qr code about 20-25cm from the bottom of the reader or on the bottom mount worked best, either way it's further than you'd expect.
It so cheap to travel this way, a taxi to split was 30-35 euro, and bus for 3 was only 4.5 euro. Yes it was about 15min longer than a taxi, but well worth it
The local service to omis was also great and well used for trips lunches etc.

Got fined €40 for not scanning our tickets which we were not aware that we had to do Disgusting service and the guard kept saying we do not have a ticket. Almost €50 to travel from Trogir to Split with my daughter. Never use this company again. The conductor was also very rude..

Rather expensive for its meager services!
The line doesn't have enough o, they don't provide the security of getting to work on time because they go to the line overnight. Foreigners scoff at not being able to get to the destinations they paid for. 21st century and we are not keeping up with the times... Podstrana... Stobrec still has buses either occasionally or every half an hour... If they come at that promised time. Simply, the euro for another zone is too much for that way of doing business!!!!

Rude staff! Got a fine, even though we had tickets! Don't go with them, because you risk getting a big fine
We were told by the driver, that our tickets were valid for the bus, but when the inspector came and gave us a fine for not having a valid ticket, the driver didn't want to help us, he just laughed at us. Never tried anything so rude. The inspector didn't talk english, so it was hard to communicate. We still don't know what was wrong with our tickets.
Don't trust them, you'll probably just end up paying for a normal ticket AND a fine:)

Cortesemente avrei bisogno di sapere che n° di bus Promet dovrei prendere alla stazione Sukoisan per arrivare a TRG Republike e/o TRG de Franje Tudmana dove e' situato il mio appartamento. grazie
