At the end of September 2024, I participated in the Croatian Conference on Operations Research (KOI 2024) in Brela. I wanted to show my colleagues from Hungary at least some of the nice and historic spots of Split and of course, the Diocletian Palace. I was searching for a guide who could give us a tour. Alenka was highly recommended and agreed to give us a tour of the Palace. She did not disappoint, it was a wonderful tour. Alenka has an extensive knowledge of the history and events related to the palace, however, more important is the way she presents the facts, enthusiastically, and lively, interactively, with the ability to draw you into the story like you are transported in that time.
At one point one of my Hungarian colleagues, who is interested in history, asked about one of the Hungarian kings who took refuge in Split in the medieval ages. Alenka immediately knew what he was asking, explained the events surrounding his retreat into Split, and even pointed out where his daughters are buried in the Palace. My Hungarian colleagues were impressed and told me afterward that that was the best experience outside the conference that they had.
Now I can join a long list of people who can highly recommend Alenka as a tour guide of Diocletian Palace and Split in general.

Our guided tour of Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Croatia was an unforgettable experience, thanks to our phenomenal guide, Alenka. From the outset, Alenka’s warm smile and infectious enthusiasm set the perfect tone. Her passion for the history and culture of Split transformed the tour into a lively storytelling session.

Alenka is a very friendly and competent guide who can tell a lot of the history of Split and Diocletian's Palace in a very interesting and clear manner. She also gave us lots of useful tips concerning our stay in Split. We learned a lot about Croatian lifestyle and culture from her. Her English is so clear that everyone of our party could understand everything (English is not our native language). The best tour guide we have ever had on this kind of historical tour! 👏👏👏

Tour took few hours within Diokletian’s palace and we were provided with numerous details about history as well as present status of the palace and living style within it. Alenka acted very relaxed with the smile and we heard lot of anecdotes. It was very easy to imagine through her words what was the life in palace like centuries ago. Thanks Alenka and we really appreciate time spent with you!

I met Alenka as a passionate mountaineer, and then as an excellent guide in love with her city - the city of Split. As Im not a local, I asked her to take me through the city of the Roman emperor Diocletian. Walking through the picturesque streets of the city, with great charm and smile and enviable knowledge of the distant and recent history of Split, Alenka absolutely met my high criteria of what a guide must be. That was the reason I engaged her every time my business associates or family members from all over the world came to Split.
Whether Alenka takes you through the imperial stories, or takes you to taste local specialties, be sure that you have chosen the right guide.

I was lucky to be guided several times by Alenka and I consider she's a really amazing and professional guide. Her tours are an unique opportunity to understand the history and the present of Split. On the other hand being guided by her is tremendously exciting she gets to make people she gets to make people to get involved deeply in her speech, making them to experience every walked inch of the city. Alenka is very informative, funny and put herself into the character in a outstanding way. In my humble opinion I consider she's a top guide. Nobody going to Split should not miss the chance to get along with her guidance and stroll down together the magnificently City of Split.🌟🌟🌟

Thanks to Alenka as my private guide, I understood
why Split is a magical city with a mixture of different cultures and
why the city was an inspiration to many artists and
why Split has the largest number of songs describing its beauty and splendor.
Il found out that Diocletian has a good taste to build his palace by the sea in the bay.
With Alenka I visited an impressive Roman building - under the protection of UNESCO with all the hidden passages in the shape of a labyrinth, places that are acoustic like "Vestibule". In the narrow streets I have seen coffee bars, a chocolate shop while above me were drying laundry to remind me that I am in the Mediterranean. :) I passed by the monument to Gregory of Nin and hear why I should touch his thumb. Then viset Cathedral of the Protector of the City of St. Duje, which is celebrated on May 7. I felt the hedonistic spirit on the city promenade. Nearby is the city green market where the locals offer organic products and where you can try the traditional street food Soparnik and feel like local person.
Alenka has strong personality, pleasantly hospitable, her advice is helpful so that a stay in Split makes sense.
