There are 4 exhibit halls and you can pick & choose which ones you wish to see. The entrance at the time was 10 Ukrainian hrivna (about $0.45 US) for each exhibit hall.... More

From old 17th century Icons, Ilya Repin's masterworks, great mariner painter Ayvazovsky, who was also a Kharkiv resident at time. I liked this museum, it had some really cool and beautiful paintings. Some paintings were in a bad shape, but that didn't bother me. The lightings can be rather annoying because sometimes it gets difficult to see the paintings properly.

The building and many of the artworks are in a poor state of repair, but the art was interesting as a reflection of Ukrainian culture. My favourite piece was the Cossacks dictating a derisory response to a Turkish attempt at negotiation.
