Statues of Lenin have been pulled down in many Ukrainian cities and Kharkiv lost its earlier this year. No decision has been made as to what will replace it. At one end of the square is a tent with displays featuring the conflict in the...More

As any cultural heritage this is one of it and if it happens to be near it you should stop and have a look.

Its a shame that they removed the Lenin bust, because nowadays it just a big square with a makeshift tent that collects money for the war. Also, its a gamble walking on there due to the free for all access to cars! Human frogger!

It was believed to be the biggest square in Europe, though according to wikipedia, it is not true. But square is big indeed.

Locals say it's the largest square in Europe. Looks impressive just for its size. Nothing special. There is no more Lenin's monument in there. Just big empty space

Since the conflict with Russia started, there had been a mobile military recruitment centre in situ and the Lenin statue has been removed as part of the 'communism removal' drive. The place looks sad compared to my earlier visits, though is still pretty vibrant as...More

This was a really big square. it was interesting to see, but nothing special. It's nice to see once. But I wouldn't make multiple trips.
