Exquisitely decorated outside like a fancy cake!

This church is a favorite in Antigua, about a block away from the Arch on 5th avenida. The exterior is painted a wonderful yellow with white trim that makes it stand out. It is a popular spot to meet people in Antigua with its pretty grounds and benches. The inside of the church has beautiful mosaic work throughout as well.

This is a small church on the edge of town in front of a small park. The setting is serene and tranquil.

Reminded us of Granda Spain!

Small, intimate, very authentic church that is especially pretty at Christmastime when the ceilings are beautifully draped and there's a full-size nativity. It's a few blocks from the much larger Church of San Francisco on the same street. Photos without flash were allowed. We saw no other tourist and only a handful of locals. Glad we stopped!

Old church
Nov 2017 • Family
Very old church, not one of the very impressive ones, but a very nice example of small colonial churches in Antigua.

Authentic parish church off the tourist track
Aug 2017 • Solo
Iglesia y Escuela de Cristo church is different because it has a renaissance-style, bare-stone mostly devoid of stucco. This is the work of architect Diego de Porres, and bears the Porres seal at the arch at the church entrance with a distinguishing hand holding an architects compass. The interior was open and inviting for prayer since it is a functioning church, pictures speak for themselves. Additionally, it it adjacent to a small plaza across the street.

Historico Lugar Bello en Semana Santa

School of Christ is precious. At Easter we can appreciate the religious fervor of Antigua. The area is very beautiful since it is located in Calle Los Pasos, street where the Via Crucis de Cristo Jesus is celebrated. You find 12 crypts and each one is a station of the Via Crucis. In century XV XVI this street was called street of the Bitterness

Probably the only church that survive the big earthquake in Antigua
Apr 2017 • Family
This is another church among the dozens in Antigua. It is located east of the main plaza and you will not find it easy since it is far form the crowds and main attractions. It is interesting to visit it since, to may understanding, it the only temple that withstood the devastating earthquake that destroyed the city, so you get and idea how the other churches where.

There is a little and charming park located in front where you my find local and cheap street food.
